There were major facade renovation works taking place, which we had not been informed of, and hence the property was shrouded in plastic with scaffolding externally, dirty, dusty and the air conditioning had been turned off as a result. "Communication was nearly impossible... I had no idea where the key was, had too many documents to sign, and felt like I was signing my life away. They sent the email too late about instructions on where the key was. I could not locate the apartment. I tried calling the property, but they were no help. "I travel regularly in Italy for business. On this occasion due to a late meeting I missed the last train home and was forced to stay the night. I was treated as a massive inconvenience for the staff. In particular the late night porter who was shockingly lecturing, patronising and sarcastic. I’ve enjoyed many stays in Italian hotels and without exception the staff have been excellent. This was exceptionally awful, I shall not be returning. "

"For the price and location of this hotel, you can’t go wrong. Very close to the Duomo and public transportation. Room was nice and kept but showing its age. Some bad spots in the bathroom as far as run down equipment but serviceable. I would stay again happily. "

"We chose the Hotel Del Sud as it was a decent price relatively close to the city centre. Transport-wise you only had to cross the road outside and go down to the Metro (train station) which would take you pretty much anywhere within reason which was really easy! We found a 72 hour Metro pass for the area was €15 so that sorted us for the stay. The staff at the hotel were really nice and we never had any bother. If you head down the road there is a 24/7 supermarket if you ever needed anything, a McDonalds across the road and a few different restaurants in the area. All round it was cheap and cheerful which satisfied us going on a short break to Milan - we would go again if we returned. "
