READ NEGATIVE REVIEWS CAREFULLY!! I am skeptical as to how this hotel could receive any positive reviews and if you would look closer you will see many of the somewhat decent reviews are about the hotels restaurant NOT their accommodation.
-EXTREMELY dirty rooms including leftover rubbish from previous guest/cleaner
-Rude and unaccommodating staff

We chose this room en-route and it turned out to be very nice. It was very nice the shower took a little time to figure out but the water was fine. The breakfast buffet was fine for the hotel and it gave us the opportunity to walk to the city center for dinner and some shopping. Also the desk clerk gave us a great recommendation for dinner that turned out to be one of our best meals in Scotland.

A hotel with character, charm, location and very helpful staff. I would recommend the Beaufort to others.
Shame about other guests and their dogs.
