Property was not suitable for use; it appeared as though it was mid-renovation, though there was no indication that work was ongoing.

Cheap enough but...
Posted 17 Mar 2024 on HotelsAs a one-night stay, I just needed a bed and shower. For a 3 star hotel (as listed on Hotels.com), it was rather run down. Toilet seat was only connected on one side so moved - despite having a nice paper seal to show it was cleaned, the cleaner didn't notice it nearly fell off. Bedside lampshade was in tatters and lamp didn't work. Beds were okay and kitchen was satisfactory. Apparently no on-site manager after hours so nobody to address kids running the verandah after 10pm or to address the loud argument in a downstairs room at 4am. Office didn't open until 9am so any assistance needed was not available apparently.

Felt uneasy about nearby clientele. Not unlike Rotorua and the temporary accommodation for homeless. Grounds a mess. Garden needed weeding.

Old and Tired but Clean
Posted 13 Feb 2024 on HotelsOlder style of hotel in desperate need of renovations and repairs.
We stayed in room 6, and although it was old it was clean the the shower was hot.
Reception was friendly and it was well priced and everything was booked out for the Burt Munro festival.

The shower was filthy, the toilet needs a coat of paint. The toilet has been replaced but the old wall fittings are there and are black with mould, the shower drips constantly and the window surround had mould growing on it.
