"Beck's Bed & Breakfast is a sweet jewel of a place in a remote region of the Crooked Tree Wildlife Refuge (a birder's paradise). Robert and Becky are warm, incredibly knowledgable hosts and provide a respite from the hustle and bustle of vacation stress and more tourist dense areas. "Howler Monkey was an interesting little place. Family run and in a fairly remote location so we saw enormous, 5 ft. orange iguanas along the river (take binoculars to see them better) and heard the howlers in the area. However, the place could use some work - cleaning, painting, general maintenance, etc. And it is not a 'resort' by most American's description. The locals and neighbors around the house were very friendly. A grocery store was located near by and we were able to get most of what we needed to make our meals. Dee has a small bar next door and a small shop where you can get some basics. Dee was so friendly. A Howler Monkey troop came right onto the property one of the days and they were fun to watch. Another Howler Monkey troop spends most of its time across the street at Lloyd’s. Lloyd was happy to allow us on his property to check them out. The accommodations were great. There was a washer and dryer on site that worked well. We did not want to leave and we will definitely be back!"
