Motel is right on busy highway. lots of traffic noise. room was clean but small & crowded. Town is depressed & only found 1 restaurant for dinner & 1 for breakfast. Wouldn't stay there again.

Plan B on the way to Death Valley

Posted 26 Mar 2015
Pros: Rooms renovated. Basics provided.
Cons: Outside of the motel looks very dated. No internet. Hotel staff made dinner recommendations to a place that serves only breakfast and lunch.
Location: Death Valley
We booked fairly late for our night before visiting Death Valley and had limited choice. Old motel with renovated rooms that provide the basics.

Small Jem in Independence

Posted 21 Feb 2015 on Hotels
This small but comfortable room had everything I needed for a quick vacation - TV, wifi, coffee and a hot shower. The room was clean and quiet and the staff was very nice and helpful. The price for the room was very reasonable, especially compared to nearby Lone Pine. I look forward to staying here again.

Clean and comfortable

Posted 4 Dec 2014 on Hotels
Slept well. Tiny room, but they gave us a free upgrade from the smallest because they weren't very busy mid-week. Had a microwave and fridge, which is good because the town has only two restaurants, and one is a Subway. Good place for a mid-trip overnighter.

Very SMALL rooms but equally clean. Could have put a few more pillows in the room.
