"We enjoyed the period architecture with modern furnishings. It doesn't have a lift, which was a problem with bulky luggage. The hotel is positioned well, with a short walk into the new town, or accessing more of Scotland by rail/road. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, but not very spacious for two hungry people. Overall, it suits well for short stays more than long holidays. "

"The Pillars was located in a nice area with pubs and restraunts. It is close to the tram and neighborhood shops. The staff were great... they provided us with infomation on local activities, and quickly responded to any questions we had. Cosy room and a nice, fully-kitted kitchen to use Would definitely stay there again "

"Edinburgh is very over priced when it comes to hotel rooms. I managed to get this room quite cheap so expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. All the things that you want to be good were good. VERY CLEAN (room and linen) although a shared bathroom, it was a very clean and spacious one. Very very friendly staff. The room furniture was dated a little, but judging a chest of drawers holds no point, as long as it is clean and not broken. Would definitely stay here again. "

"Vivienne was very helpful and full of information! The house is lovely and right on the bus line to take you to the major attractions (and hop on hop off busses). It’s even walkable. The room was small, but functional, as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh!"

"The Guesthouse looked new or it has been recently refurbished. Very powerful shower with a lot of water pressure, which I liked. Comfy bed and good size room and bathroom. The location is convenient and there are lots of bus connection links to the centre, which is not far anyway, someone could also walk if they fancy it! Only downside it was the complete lack of responses from the hosts that I tried to contact repeatedly beforehand. Even Expedia tried to contact them unsuccessfully. This should...

"I had a fantastic stay at Six Brunton Place during my visit to Edinburgh! The location is unbeatable and just a short walk to restaurants, shops, attractions, and conveniently close to both train and bus routes. Hilary, the host, was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making the booking and check-in process seamless and stress-free. I highly recommend Six Brunton Place to anyone visiting Edinburgh that is looking for quiet, comfortable accommodations that come with a delicious breakfast."

"This is an unsafe place to stay. Were advised to park our car within range of cctv. The door of our room had recently been broken into as the lock was badly replaced. Dirty linen on the bed . This is being polite . Very unreliable person managing the property. Avoid at all costs"

"Great spot! Check-in was a bit rough; I didn't have service, so I didn't get the email about self-check-in, and when I did get the info it led to an occupied room. We got it sorted shortly and onward was a great, comfy spot."

"We loved the staff at Wilde so friendly and outgoing. We were less enamored with our rooms. Some things in both rooms we had didn’t function properly (blinds, lights, etc). Room was either freezing ir we had the heat off or felt like a furnace or we had it on. We also found that the “apartment” part of the room was not well utilized by us. Great hotel but note Spa is an "add on".

"Perfect 2 night stay for my wife's 40th birthday surprise. The room and hotel overall were spotless. The only negative we had was that the rooftop Spa is not included in the price and is an extra £35pp (discounted from the regular price of £90pp) for a 3hr slot only which was a little disappointing when it is advertised as part of the hotel experience. We did add this on though and the spa is very good and worth the discounted price but definitely not the full £90pp for 3hrs access. Breakfast is highly recommended great selection and quality."

A wonderful spot in Edinburgh

"The location is ideal! It is a short walk from the train station with bus and tram stops steps away. Even though it is right on a busy road it is a quiet sanctuary. The room was a peaceful place to end every day of walking this gorgeous clean city. The breakfast buffet was a delicious way to begin each day. It was the only hotel in my price range that offered 2 twin beds in the same room. Unlike the US, a “double room” means 1 bed for 2 people. "
