Fabulous staff. Cycled the Shimanami Kaido from Onamichi to Imabari and this hotel was conveniently located in Imabari. Beautifully quiet with stunning views of the sea and shipping channels.

The staff were super friendly and the view was amazing. Didn’t expect anything special, but it was very nice experience and can recommend for anyone staying a night and having a dinner and breakfast at this place.

Daichouso stay
Posted 23 Nov 2023 on HotelsGood attention to detail. Ice water and hot pot for tea waiting in room. Great dinner (half board) and breakfast. Convenient to bike rental and Shimanami Kaido bridge. Great views from rooms and restaurant.

Very good
Posted 30 Sep 2021 on HotelsThe front of the hotel is very narrow so we followed the signs to the parking lot below and took our luggage up by elevator. The elevators are small and the lobby is very narrow so I can imagine how crowded it must get during the busy season. However the room was spacious and the bathroom looked newly renovated and was very spacious too. Everything was clean and the views were nice. However, the bedspreads were nylon so they were not so comfortable.
The food was ok. We were not asked if there were any food restrictions or preferences so there was one shellfish dish that I did not eat. I was asked if there was something she could bring in its place, but nothing was ever brought, which is ok because there was a lot of food anyway. The fish was good but the karaage fish with bones was difficult to eat. They need to cook it so that the bones are crispy and edible. The taimeshi at the end was a lot, so they made onigiri for us to take back to our room, which was nice.
Breakfast was ok too. Since I am a foreigner who has been living in Japan for many years, I am used to this kind of Japanese breakfast, but new foreign visitors would really enjoy the healthy variety of dishes.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay in a nice location.

The food was excellent and the views stunning. Sadly there was no public transport to the accommodation and access from the Shinamami Kaido can be awkward. The staff were friendly but worth noting English very limited. Wi-fi was very good and room spacious. Westerners may feel the property needs a bit of updating decor wise. Overall, very comfortable!

I really couldn't recommend this hotel for overseas visitors to Japan. The staff were very cold and unhelpful (we sent baggage from the hotel and they didn't assist us with the short form even though they could have done it it a quarter of the time it took us!) and they seemed very uneager to help. Dinner was one of the worst meals I've had in Japan (after living there for several years and visiting 3-4 times per year). They served turban shells, deep fried fish heads with no meat inside, deep fried fish tails that were purely bone, and a really bland whole fish with its head on. The rooms were ok and the view great, but it didn't make up for the poor hospitality and really terrible cuisine.
