I stayed for one night in early October. The hostel is a traditional Japanese home with tatami floors and futons. The couple run the hostel out of their house. They offer pickup from the train station and are fairly sociable. It was enjoyable talking to them but not so much that it was intrusive. The house got a bit cold at night however the futon was very warm and comfortable. I highly recommend it if you are traveling in Nagano and want to stay in a traditional Japanese home with friendly hosts.

Nice stay, nestled between fields and mountains
Posted 14 May 2024 on HotelsYukuru Guest House is situated a little bit outside Iiyama, nestled between fields and mountains. The hosts are super friendly and provide a warm welcome and tea in their kitchen, plus a lot of tips where to eat or buy Sake in Iiyama. My room was a cosy and quite spacious traditional tatami room. I only stayed one night, but I'd like to come back for a longer stay in winter and do cross country skiing.

宿付近には田んぼしかありません。静かなところで、白鳥も飛来してきます。
宿は清潔です。キッチン及びカトラリーは全て貸し出してくれるので、自分で食材を調達してくれば自宅のように食事ができます。
お風呂がシャワーのみなので、その点だけ知っていた上で割り切っていれば、特に不満のない宿だと思います。
オーナー御夫婦は関西のご出身で、いろいろとお話し上手でした。またお会いしたくなる方々でした。

Séjour dans maison typique japonaise
Posted 8 Aug 2019 on HotelsSéjour entre amis dans une maison typique japonaise. Le couple qui tient la maison a été adorable. Ils ne parlent pas très bien anglais mais se démènent pour comprendre et se faire comprendre. Nous recommandons très très vivement.
