As part of the green belt that wraps around the outside of Frankfurt, Huthpark comprises vast grassy fields and forested areas. Complementing the poplars and chestnut trees that make up the woodland are a tennis club and a playground. Bring the whole family on a visit to Huthpark to enjoy the activities in this scenic, leafy hub.
Relax with a cup of coffee in the BERGstation Seckbach café at the southern end of Huthpark. The café lies just off the main path that runs around the perimeter of the park. Enjoy a meal with enchanting views of the trees and open fields.
A little northeast of the café is a children’s playground, complete with a large sand pit, a swinging tire and a slide. Sit on a bench with a book and watch your kids as they take on the challenges of a climbing frame and wooden planks.
Stroll along the tree-lined path that encloses the park. At the western end, you’ll reach the Tennisverein Heimgarten 1912 eV tennis club. Face off against a friend on one of the six clay courts, before resting with a drink at the club’s café. Another playground lies in a shaded woodland area just outside the tennis complex.
Bring your kids onto the grassy area at the heart of the park and spread out supplies for a picnic in these picturesque surroundings. Sunbathe on a summer afternoon or rest in the shade of the patch of large trees in the park’s central section. In winter, try sledding down the snowy hill. The park’s interior was designed in the early 1900s by landscape architect Bernhard Rosenthal.
Huthpark is in the Seckbach district in the northeastern part of Frankfurt. Drive from the city center for about 25 minutes to get here or travel by metro to the Bornheim Seckbacher Landstraße station, a 15-minute walk south from the park.
While in this green part of Frankfurt, visit other parks such as Wasserpark, Lohpark and the Seckbacher Ried.
