The service at the hotel is good. When we arrived there was a cute little stuffed monkey and a small jar of tea with a hand written welcome note waiting for us in our room. The breakfast is good with many choices.

The best international brand hotel in Huangshan
Posted 17 Sep 2019 on HotelsThis is probably the best international standard hotel in Huangshan city! However, only a few staffs speak good English like Wil so it's kind of a struggle to communicate with other staffs even though they tried very hard to be helpful. Thanks to Wil, we got our train ticket booked and travel to mount Huangshan arranged! The hotel is very big and elegant. Room was nice and clean with nice view of the river. The seafood pizza we tried was good. However, the so called "mandarin fish" that I ordered at the Chinese restaurant was terrible. It smelled like rotten fish! Anyhow, this is probably the closest to international standard hotel as it gets. The hotel is about 5 min taxi ride to Tuxi Ancient street!

At the same time, it is also a pity to see that some of the staff's English communication skills are not satisfactory to you. The hotel has reported the problems you mentioned to the management and will train the staff in English to continuously improve the service level. About the “smelly mandarin fish”, it is a unique huizhou local dish. This dish has a unique method of preparation. It smells smelly and tastes delicious. The meat is tender, mellow and smooth.Many people are not used to this taste,the next time you stay in the hotel, you can ask the service staff to recommend dishes to you.
Welcome to stay at Crowne Plaza Huangshan Yucheng again!

What I like:
- big swimming pool
- great gym facilities
- nice lobby
Check in staff originally placed in a smoking room, asked for an unreasonable big deposit (4000 yuan). After then we were allocated into a non-smoking room with better views.
Room cleaning was excellent

Almost but not quite there. Smokey rooms.
Posted 16 Apr 2019 on HotelsFront desk staff at check-in require more training. They were slow and quite inflexible. I booked 3 nights stay over 2 bookings but they insisted that I can only add the extra night to my door card on the day I am supposed to check-in under the second booking rather than just taking as one continuous stay. Many other hotels internationally had been able to aggregate all bookings as 1 booking so I don't have to go back and add more nights to the room key.
More importantly, I had to switch several rooms because even though I was given a room on a non-smoking floor with all non-smoking rooms, the hotel supplied ash trays in these rooms and previous guests had smoked in them. Some rooms smelled of heavy cigarette smoke. After 4 room changes within the non-smoking floor did they find me a room that didn't smell of cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, that room had 2 single beds and not the King bed which I had booked. I settled for the single bed rather than chance a king bed in a smokey room.
Front desk was quite useless until a young Lady Manager stepped in. She was superb in helping me sort out the rooms and was apologetic.
The concierge Kelvin was more than helpful. He was extremely knowledgeable about the areas to travel to and helped arranged local travel.
So it was not all bad. However, I am not sure I will return to stay at this hotel again because I want to avoid getting non-smoking rooms that smelled of cigarette smoke.
