This feedback is for expedia only. I booked for 2 through expedia site but only reserved 1 single bunk bed. The hostel staff told us the problem is with booking site and they cannot provide additional bed. Upon request to hotel staff we were moved to another YHA hostel Castleton far from the booked site.
We were in trouble in booking through Expedia site. We thank to the hostel staff who helped us in that situation.

Cosy, friendly, perfect
Posted 4 Sep 2018 on HotelsStayed in the female dorm for three nights during a climbing trip to the Peaks. Had a really wonderful time - everything exceptionally clean, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, cosy lounge. Breakfast was good (it’s not cheap but there is plenty of choice and you can have as much as you like). The dorm rooms have under-bed storage boxes - remember to bring a padlock! Highly recommended for travellers looking for a home-from-home, I’ll definitely be back.

The dark Peak
Posted 4 Jul 2018 on HotelsThis hostel is in a great location. Since we had 5 in our party, we were able to have a room to ourselves. There are only 4 rooms in the main building and we had one of them with three bunk beds. The rooms and bedding were clean and the shared kitchen had everything you need to cook and multiple refrigerators, plus pen and labels to mark you food. There is a comfortable lounge area and picnic benches outside in the small garden. The room had a sink and there are two showers and two “WC” on the floor. Stayed for two nights and had a nice pub meal and Indian Balti in town. Did a walk to Little John’s grave plus explored the area and did a bigger walk around Stanage Edge. Parking spaces are a bit tight and limited. If you want affordable and a place to sleep, this is the place to stay. Would stay here again. Friendly service with options for a hot breakfast and dinner for an extra charge each.

Helpful staff...pleasant enough room. It was a hostel so didn't expect 4 star, but was pleasantly surprised about how far they have come.
