This intimate and sheltered ski retreat, popular with couples, families and small groups, offers spectacular lake views from its slopes.

Homewood Mountain Resort is one of Tahoe’s smaller ski areas, with just eight lifts and 64 runs for all levels. Take in the glorious sight of Lake Tahoe as you zigzag down the slopes. After a day of snow sport, head to the West Shore Café, a particularly lively spot on weekends during the ski season.

Homewood is a top-rated ski resort in California. It receives good annual snowfall, has two terrain parks, a respected ski and snowboard school, and several dining options. The main attraction is the spectacular views from the slopes, which are ideal for beginners because they are protected from intense winds by Ellis Peak.

Explore Lake Tahoe in style aboard Homewood’s luxury yacht, the Tahoe Blue Wave, which serves lunch and dinner. Snuggle up by the yacht’s fireplace or stand on the fly bridge while taking in the stunning views.

Homewood Mountain Resort offers plenty of off-slope activities. Gather at the cozy lakeside West Shore Café and Inn for drinks and live entertainment. This restaurant is famous for its Full Moon Rising parties: enjoy views of the bright moon hanging over the lake while sipping on Moonlight Martinis and Moonlight Cocoa. Book one of the romantic suites with a lake view at the inn or choose from one of the lodging options in the nearby towns of Tahoe City and Tahoe South.

Nestled on the Californian side of Lake Tahoe, this mountain resort is located at Homewood, just a six-mile (10-kilometer) drive south of Tahoe City. All the regular amenities are available, including eateries and gear rental. A paid car park is near the lake’s edge. Several free shuttle services connect the resort to the Californian-side towns during the ski season. Paid buses operate all year. Hop aboard the North Lake Tahoe Water Shuttle to cruise across the lake to other Lake Tahoe destinations.
