I don’t usually write reviews. But this lodge was way out of my expectations. My experience with the lodge was fantastic. Every staffs were very nice and sincere. The energy vibe at the place was warm and welcoming. The food was AMAZING. The lodge only host 5 rooms. So It was very private. You could pretty much enjoy the entire property by yourself without sharing space.

The owners of the property were very warm and hospital. The room was spacious and had a nice African vibe. Braai for dinner was delicious. Highly recommended!

Great stay
Posted 20 May 2019 on HotelsWe stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and enjoyed our time there. Sander was a great host, picking us up from the airport, as well as providing us for bikes to use to ride around and explore the area (within the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate). We ate dinner at the lodge both nights, and the food was very tasty and we enjoyed the environment sitting outside.

Close to the airport and great access point from which to venture further afield - into Kruger NP, particularly if you have vehicle access.
Sander and his wife and daughter (soon to add a son) were the most helpful and kind hosts a traveler could wish for.

We enjoyed our stay at African Rock Lodge. The owner couples gave us great suggestions for local attractions, driving routes and restaurants. The camp fire and braai dinner at the lodge was very intimate and nice.
