Sunshine house was a great hotel for me as a first time overseas traveler to stay at. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially in situations such as my late arrival time (2am) and when I needed an adapter plug to charge my phone in Vietnamese sockets. My room was good, and room service was regular and done to a satisfactory standard. Special thanks to Hiên̄ and Quý on in the late afternoons/evenings!

Overall, we thought this place was great! Free cold water every day, "mini bar" in the room with reasonable prices, super sparkling clean, cute balcony, nice staff. Staff was friendly and helpful, asking about our day and helping with luggage. The location is good, away from the wild backpacker street, but close enough to walk to many bars, restaurants, and attractions. I liked how the hostel is set back from the main street, and the local families said hi to us as we came and went every day. It was pretty quiet at night. The only reason I had to knock off a "star" is that the code we were given for the door after hours didn't work, so we had to pound on the door and shout to be let in. And no, we weren't just drunk -- we confirmed the next morning that the code did not work. I don't know what we would have done if they hadn't heard us! The bed was kind of hard too, but that seems to be the norm in Vietnam, given other places we stayed. We were pleased and would definitely stay there again, but double check the door code!

I left my cell phone in Grab car and asked Hương, the front desk receptionist to call/text my cell for the driver to return to Sunshine House. I got the response right away to ease the mind, her enthusiasm of caring and helping to track/find my cell is so wonderful! Thanks god, there are modest honest people in Vietnam.

Sunshine House was a really nice and quiet place to stay but yet walking distance to food and coffee shops. The room was clean, comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and had plenty of hot water, and the staff was excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful...especially Hien...she told me about many beautiful places to visit!

Hotel staff help and take care very well. Price of this hotel very cheap and room is clean. Awesome location in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city

Wir haben für 3 Personen gebucht. Beim Check in hieß es "nur 2 Gäste, für die dritte Person extra zahlen". Daraufhin habe ich die Reisebestätigung von Expedia für 3 Personen gezeigt. Wir wurden auf unser Zimmer geschickt und fanden 1 Doppelbett vor. Wir gingen wieder zur Rezeption und fragten nach einer dritten Aufbettung. Uns wurde eine verpackte Klappmatratze in die Hand gedrückt, nach Bettwäsche und Handtuch mussten wir auch separat fragen. Die Matratze mussten wir selber hochtragen und herrichten. Nun muss die dritte Person auf einer 8cm dicken Schaumstoffmatratze auf dem Boden schlafen. Das andere Bett war steinhart. Auch fanden wir überall Haare und Dreck vor. Ja, ein Homestay ist kein 3 Sterne Hotel... Wir haben in 5 verschiedenen Homestays in gleicher oder sogar günstigerer Preisklasse in Vietnam geschafen, dies war mit Abstand das schlechteste.
