This is an old property that is a great retreat in spite of it's foibles. Three years ago when I stayed he my concern was the safety of the neighborhood. There has been a remarkable change for the better. For the price you can't beat it. The staff is wonderful.

This place was difficult to find and seedy, no hot water the very sweet front desk girl was told to tell anyone who complained to use the lobby shower

The hotel was a dump , and the most unhygienic place I have ever been to , the bathroom was full of bugs and the actual maintainace was very pathetic , paints peeling everywhere , the facilities were horrible , they did not provide fresh towels , they left damp Towels on the bed , the I have lots of picture to share , when asked they were rude and asked to contact Expedia , this was the single Most worst experience of my life , it was very unhygienic , unsanitary and completely unsafe , Thai property should be removed from your listing , bare minimum checks should have been done by your team , this is just not acceptable , we had no choice but to stay as it was a late check in and there were no options , Expedia needs to take responsibility and act

Very convenient spot to swim the turtles by driving for a few minutes towards the airport, a great breakfast with fruits and homemade cakes, overall a very good deal if you enjoy staying in a vintage building with a bit reduced comfort

Do not believe any above 2 star review. The worst ever and I have been around the world. I continue to report fake reviews. I suspect the pictures over a decade old. Dirty, moldy, buggy, should be condemned.

I enjoyed my first night, so i extended my stay by two days. Don't listen to the folks who prefer a sterile "downtown" hotel experience - The Wild Ginger IS Hawai'i. Historic building, amazing staff, and the convenience of being right on the edge of downtown Hilo. Minutes from lava tubes, waterfalls, and beaches. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm on the Big Island!

It's an older building, one of the oldest operating hotels on the island. Don't pass this one up: just outside of downtown Hilo, affodrable, and the kind of character your want in a room in paradise. Hot water takes a bit to get going, so be patient, but that's the only drawback. The staff are amazing, the courtyard is a beautiful micro slice of the island, and the rooms are more than sufficient! Biggest fridge in a hotel anywhere yet for me! A five minute drive or 10 minute walk from downtown: either way, it's a great lodging experience. If I'm ever here again, i know where I'll be staying. Mahalo, Wild Ginger!

空港すぐ近くで、安かったので予約しました。かなり古く、ホテルというよりモーテル、民宿寄りです。エアコン、部屋着はありません。シャンプー、固形石鹸、ローション、天井ファン、冷凍冷蔵庫、各種タオルはあります。ドライヤーは備え付けはありませんが、言えば貸してくれます。水、お湯が出るウォーターサーバー、電子レンジがロビーにあり24時間使えます。Wi-Fiは部屋ではつながりにくいです。色々不便はありますが、今まで泊まったホテルのどこよりも、予約後の注意事項のメールやりとり等がスムーズで密でした。
