the staff is kind of rude. I understand their command of English language is limited. But the attitude can be seen through body language.

There is no elevator in the hotel, you need to carry your own luggage, and you need to move three flights of stairs by yourself. The dinner is mediocre, and the breakfast is even worse! The hotel is old! There is no air conditioning in the hotel (lobby and room)!

Lovely stay at Deer Valley, staff were great, very friendly. Really liked that meals were served at your table - we had stayed at a few other places recently that were all buffet style. The food was very very nice, and the italian dinner focus was a nice change from several weeks of japanese food. Breakfast was a large american plate, which also included a tasty curry soup (love that about hokkaido). Onsen has a nice view of Asahidake, and it was good to have the option to also take an onsen and sauna at sister hotel Bear Monte.
Deer Valley had a calm, relaxing ambiance, would definitely stay again.

Thank you very much for staying at Asahidake Onsen Hotel Deer Valley. We are very happy to receive such a high evaluation for our meals. We offer an Italian course for dinner and a one-plate breakfast with three kinds of breads and massaman curry. We use many ingredients from the suburbs of Higashikawa, grown in the subterranean waters of Asahidake,We have also taken great care in the presentation of the dishes so that they are pleasing to the eye,Your feedback is a great encouragement to our staff. We hope you will spend a relaxing time at our hotel again next time.We look forward to seeing you again.Asahidake Onsen Hotel Deer Valley Manager

Reasonable stay with areas of improvement
Posted 15 Jun 2019 on HotelsPlace was pleasant. Requested for extra pillows as pillow was too low for us but was told there wasn't. First time I ever encountered hotel with no extra pillows. They gave towels instead. Staff couldn't speak English well and had some problems conversing food restrictions. Wifi was very weak in the room despite being near the middle of the building. Stay would have been much better of the issues were rectified.

Not recommended at all. Highly overpriced and no one speaks English (or any other language except Japanese). No WI-FI in the rooms, only in public areas. At the check out there is a "surprise": tax for using the hot spring - no one tells you before and no sign any place - plus 9000 yen for three days for a couple

Very nice hotel and peaceful
Posted 4 Mar 2016Nice and clean hotel. Great value, especially getting breakfast and dinner included with the stay. Staff are very professional and friendly, who speak decent English. Food was good, mix of traditional Japanese and western. Wifi only in the lobby and common areas but not in rooms. Quiet and peaceful.
