Great Hotel tucked away at the ocean

Great room - but overall poor hotel complex
Posted 30 Dec 2022 on HotelsThe room was spacious and well decorated. Unfortunately the room overlooked a security gate and the staff were loud with thier banter and radios which was a bit of a distraction from the serene environment.
The overall hotel estate is worn and tired, looks like it has not been maintained in years.
We were there for one night and wanted to go to the bar/restaurant with the view of the ocean. We were told it was full and therefore had to eat in a “pub” type restaurant next to a security gate.

Rooms are very clean & spacious. Breakfast buffet could use a little bit of more choices though. Overall, it’s a nice place for a weekend gateaway.

It was a good stay overall.
We also really enjoyed hiking. The course is amazing.
There were some building next to the lake that are a bit delipidated.
