Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Great potential, poor execution
This property has so much potential and I really hope the owners are able to make it everything it could be. Unfortunately at the moment there's a lot of room for improvement and the price didn't reflect that. The cleanliness level was not brilliant and the space was extremely cold. You are provided with a small gas heater, however it simply isn't capable of heating the space on a cold night. The bedding is summer weight, and there is no insulation, so the cold really bites. There is poor reception in the area and no WiFi - not fundamentally a problem, but it would have been helpful to know in advance so we could have found food and things to do before arriving. We also had a difficult time finding the place - again, contact in advance of our stay could have really helped with that. On a positive note, feeding the meerkats was an absolute highlight, and the fire cabin was an enjoyable place to sit in the evening. We appreciated the information booklet with some suggestions of places to explore in the area - and the area really is so beautiful and worth a visit. Overall, a beautiful setting and a property with potential to be a really special night away, but our visit left a lot to be desired and the price was very high for what was a cold and quite basic night away.
