"I selected this property for one night because it was within 10 minutes of the Athens airport. It does not have a reception desk but their written instructions were very clear to gain access to the property. I wish I had more time because the property and the pool were lovely. "

"The hotel is on the edge of the city center and only 2 blocks from the ocean. You would have to walk about 20 minutes for a small beach or drive 20 for a nicer beach. I rented a car and drove all over the island. Maria at the front desk was very helpful. Parking is hit or miss aw far as street parking. "The property was ideal for our needs, close to the city centre and on a pedestrianised area so no through traffic. The owners kept us well informed of all we needed to know including the best places to dine in the area and slightly further afield. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return should the need arise."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Rafkos mansion. Stelios the owner took us wherever we needed to go and we had delicious meals at one of the local restaurants. It would be wise to have a car because it’s in a village about 30mins. from Heraklion. Stelios is the definition of Greek hospitality! "

"We enjoyed our stay here - the staff answered messages quickly, and the room although basic had everything needed for a few nights stay including a small well equipped kitchen area (kettle, coffee machine, stove hob). Bathroom was small but perfectly useable. A bit more information about the area would be useful but that's what the internet is for. Check in was via a coded key pick up. The location is about 15 minutes walk from main areas of the town. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Metropole Urban. The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable and the staff always friendly and helpful. The location is excellent – from right outside to at most a 10-minute walk, you can find countless great restaurants and plentiful shopping in the old town, not to mention the beautiful church adjacent the hotel on the square. It’s only a 10 to 12-minute walk to the Heraklion Archeology Museum and just a bit father to stroll to the port. The generous breakfast was a delight and a great way to kick off the day. We would certainly book the Metropole again for a return stay."
