"Very first time in a hostel type hotel. I booked a room with a 'small bathroom' heads up - that means there's a tiny sink in the room, you still share a shower/bathroom down the hall. Small kitchen to use and 2 bathrooms on the main floor. We got there and used the hot tubs had wine right away after a long day. "A gem of a hotel with very friendly staff and policies (e.g. unrestricted access to coffee/hot chocolate machine, fruit and biscuits, nice hot breakfast always included). Cozy spacious rooms, away from light pollution, so can hunt aurora from the bedroom. The only addition I would recommend is cold plunge bath - as the hot tubs are very hot (42) - and perhaps covers for the tubs so less moss flies in. An excellent stay, thank you!"

At the edge of town with resteraunt and bedroom view over river and smoking hills from the local hot springs. The breakfast was amazing and staff helpful. We dined in the resteraunt a few times during our stay. The food is amazing but a little pricey. Much like all icelandic resteraunts. Some beautiful walks around the area.
