The venue took the money even though I'd cancelled. Then I called the hotel and was informed that I would be issued a refund. However when Expedia contacted them, they refused. £155.

Your comments are not a true reflection of what happened, as you did not cancel your booking with Expedia and so as a no show at the hotel, the Expedia virtual card provided by them to the hotel, was charged to pay for your room. Expedia asked the hotel if we would refund and we declined as the room was not cancelled. They accepted that and you should always ensure future bookings are cancelled correctly before deadlines I would suggest.

I enjoyed my first visit here for a business trip and will probably book it again as I felt safe and the staff were great. The only downside for me was That the whole hotel felt like it needed some TLC. I didn’t spend much time in the room but it was nice and large but my windows were dirty. Unfortunately the shower in my bathroom was dreadful. I did mention it when leaving the hotel so they could look into it.

Beautiful location and lovely room. Chelsea was very welcoming on the reception.

It’s a nice retreat and perfect for rest and relaxation. The food was great too. Nice getaway and affordable too.

Decent, rude staff

Clean place, decent average room, rude staff. Staff fairly hostile and unwelcoming, with a distinctive lack of hospitality. Room was up 3 flights of stairs with no lift or assistance with luggage. We booked breakfast and dinner there to simplify our trip. Honestly wish we hadn't- I'd have rather given my money to a more pleasant establishment. In the end I tried to minimise my contact with staff to avoid checking out early.
