Near to harbour , convenient to city centre and lots of food and drink options for buffet breakfast . Has sauna and comfy bed . Bathroom area is spacious and with handwash , hair and body wash and conditioner.

Scandic Grand Marina Check in went smoothly. No delays. Staff polite, efficient, and friendly. The room has 2 closets. The bedroom is about 9 feet by 20 feet. We had a King bed. There was a safe, refrigerator, and hot water heater in the room. In addition to this there was an additional chair, and a desk with a chair and lamp. The bathroom had a sink, adequate countertop space, and a shower stall. The hand held shower fixture could actually reach the sink. The towel racks in the bathroom are heated, so things dry quickly on the rack. The room was not brand new, but it was clean and in very good condition. There are several electrical outlets, but no USB ports in the room. There is a complimentary breakfast that is very very good. Housekeeping staff were very helpful and polite. They made me feel like a valued customer. The location is convenient. We took a train from the airport to the Central station (that was about $4 per person). From there it was about a $25 cab fare to our hotel, so divide that between 4 people in our cab). The hotel is close to 2 supermarkets, close to a tram stop, and close to the ferry line as well as a local marketplace where you can get local food. You can purchase an all day tram ticket for about $8, and buy that ticket from one of the nearby supermarkets: Alepa Jungman. Many of the local highlights are within walking distance. I would certainly come back to this hotel again.

There was no heating anywhere in the hotel, apart from some fan heaters in the restaurant. Overall, rather dark and in need of a refresh. Easy walking to the city centre and a tram route nearby.

I have stayed here before, & was keen to return. However during my stay there were simply not enough staff on duty. Check in took 20 minutes (was over complicated). The room wasn't serviced once in 4 days, so I only had wet towels by the last day. There was no reply when I called Room Service. The bar was closed, though there was a sign saying you could get drinks from reception (a further 20 minutes wait). My room key was disabled after the first night (20 minute queue to rectify the situation). I wanted to raise the issues with Scandic before writing this review, so contacted Scandic via their web site but never got any reply. Scandic are simply running this hotel with too few people, & don't seem to care. I have stayed at Scandic hotels many, many times over the last years, but fear this will be my last. I didn't find a way to complain to Expedia on their web site either.....

The manager of this hotel should be sacked. Daily check in queues which undoubtedly could be avoided if manger actually cared. Ie someone to dish out paperwork to queuing guests. Whole coachloads at a time. So,e welco,e and wait time…..but nothing. No management oversight at breakfast which is shocking. No oversight of corridors. Daily cleaning trolley blocked my exit from my front door. Daily cleaners slamming doors. Windows filthy on outside above ground floor. Not sure window opens ….even in a fire. Shower missing big sections of grout and you cannot have a proper shower as tap is so big and spout just drops water rather than sprays so actually quite rubbish. Mould on shower door. Lazy lazy drab drab. Shocking by Scandinavian standards. Good management and good communication means people will spend more in hotel….i spent nothing. Also receptionist so lazy did not write my name on my key card holder. Taxi driver said 50 euros for airport run when norm is 25-30. Took the bus for 5 euros.

This hotel was away from the hub bub of the market and central city but accessible by walking or a close by tram. The staff made us feel welcomed and made our stay very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and there were plenty of places to sit so we were not crowded.

Wonderful stay; highly recommend.
We stayed for two nights at the end of our Baltic family vacation. The hotel were friendly and helpful. They upgraded us to a suite from our family room, ensured he had a breakfast bag and taxi for our early morning flight, and provided my 10-year-old son with a ticket for a free mocktail during our stay. The sauna was a nice, hot experience; and the breakfast buffet was full of tasty food. The added bonus was the location. Only a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and less than 10 to the main harbour. Highly recommend.
