Don't normally leave reviews but this was bad! I booked a room for 4 nights the guy that checked me in was more worried about what was on his phone then helping me I had to have my key cards re done everynight. It Looked like someone thru up on the stairway. The mattress cover had brown stains on them floor looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in a month. roof in the bathroom looked like it was about to collapse from water damage mold around the shower. mattress felt like it was missing a few springs. And i could say more i would give this place 0 stars if that was an option. Hopefully i save someone from waisted there money on a room.

Goofy hotel that needs more work. On the plus side, it is affordable, has nice lobby, each room with fridge, microwave, safe and coffee maker. On the negative side, the furniture is old and worn out, rooms were marginally clean and the whole place needs serious upgrades.

The room was extremely dirty. We had driven from Canada and were very tired. The young man at the desk was very apologetic but showed us another room but it was worse. Dirty toilets, feces everywhere, dirty carpets, sheets questionable. We booked through Expedia, who was extremely rude and would not help us in any way. We were hung up on and we were not being abusive in any way. We did not agree with getting charged for the night. We agreed to change to the “days inn” but Expedia was trying to charge us more than the going rate since I could see the rates as we were talking to them. At one point we Somehow got disconnected and had to call back again. We got someone that was worse and told us the cancellation was a 100$ even though the person before said it was 69.$ The room was 86.$ per night. Will never use Expedia again. The young man at the Howard Johnson promised he would return our money and he did but it took a few days, no thanks to Expedia! All this time wasted on the phone with Expedia and it was my birthday that’s why we drove to Helena for a few days.

Overall place is in terrible condition, dirty with stains in carbet, bed and towels. Hole in comforter, window was stuck open. Furniture in terrible condition. Staff was wearing pajamas.
