Broken shower, light bulb out in bathroom, common areas and halls, steps dirty. Ice machine on second floor not working. Dining area staff inappropriate conversations with other staff, unprofessional. Good breakfast options. Plenty of towels,

I arrived at 1 a.m. with my family after driving all the way from Miami, and we spent an hour waiting to check in because, according to the receptionist, the room that had been assigned to me had already been rented out. During this time, my children, exhausted from the trip, were sleeping on the furniture in the lobby. At 2 a.m., the receptionist finally realized that no one was actually in my assigned room and that the issue was simply a problem with the lock that wouldn’t open. I understand this kind of thing can happen to anyone, but I find it unacceptable that she didn’t know whether the room was available or not, especially considering I paid $300 for just a few hours of such poor service. On top of that, at 10:30 a.m., someone from the hotel opened the door to the room without knocking, and this happened while my kids were in the shower. After such a long trip, this hotel honestly left me with a bad impression. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I cannot recommend this place.

After a thorough review, the room was confirmed vacant and promptly resolved. Regarding the door incident, while we provided a late checkout, it’s possible there was a miscommunication with housekeeping, who are trained to announce themselves before entering. Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with variety and hot food. Rooms were large and comfortable.

This was a good stay for couple of nights to explore the Helen town. The room was clean, but we faced a problem with the door lock, which was fixed by the staff by letting us know the we had to manually lift the door latch to make it secure and lock, which was inconvenient every time. Overall we enjoyed the stay given the locality, good included breakfast option & the courtesy of the staff.
