If you're looking for an oasis inside the city, the Highbury is the place. I stayed on a long term business trip, and it was exactly what I was looking for after long work days. The accomodations are clean, WiFi strong, and the owners are kind and welcoming. The stay is a short Tuktuk ride away from major attractions and has some great restaurants nearby.

For the price paid, it was a v poor room.

Gorgeous boutique hotel.

Pros: Gorgeous design of home.
This small hotel is located within a beautiful family home and property. The neighborhood is green and has a few nice restaurants, supermarket and post office all close by walking. We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it!

Beautiful hotel, lovely setting very tranquil
Posted 3 Sep 2017 on WotifGreat hotel, location good. Easy to get tuk tuk to all the sights cheaply. Breakfast was great, lots of choice. Sherlock was lovely and really helpful. Took very good care of us. Can't recommend highly enough.

Home stay feeling
Posted 15 Jun 2017 on HotelsReally nice play to relax. Little oasis in the busy colombo. A little bit difficult to find as it looks like a private house from outside. I recommemd use uber as you can fill in the exact address. We stayed in the suite and it was wonderful. Room is spacious and comfortable and bed feels like sleeping in a cloud. Highly recommended!

Perfect stay for a hectic Colombo
Posted 22 Mar 2017 on OrbitzOur stay at the Highbury was wonderful. It really is a lovely place. The staff and owners were extremely kind and personable. They helped us with rides from the airport and around town. Sherlock was amazing! He drove us everywhere and took very good care of us. 5 stars for him!!! The breakfasts were a perfect way to start the day. This was exactly the kind of place I was looking for. Thank you!

Bed bugs
Posted 8 Jan 2017It was difficult to find the place (entrance isn't obvious and the reception is at the back and isn't always manned) and once we did, the hotel staff weren't particularly friendly. The hotel is nicely decorated but there were lots of mozzies. Worst of all, I found myself with bedbug bites after our stay. It was our final stop in Sri Lanka so very unfortunate.

We are saddened by your review. Our house is at the back but the reception is at the front of the house. We have never ever had bed bugs. The mattresses are very new. Probably there were more mosquitos due to the rain. We are sorry that you thought we had bed bugs. Many have stayed at our place and reviewed positively. Our staff has been replaced.
