Turned away from hotel due to racism

I arrived at this hotel at 2am, Saturday, Demember 19th. I had made a booking through Hotels.com. It was freezing cold outside, and I was very much looking forward to getting to my room. However, when I got to the front desk, the receptionist called the manager and then told me I couldn't stay. She was obviously embarassed about the whole situation, and apologised. When I asked to know why, she told me through a translation app, and I quote: "Oh, we welcome foreign friends, but it's a special time." So essentially I was being turned away because I'm not Chinese, or at least didn't look Chinese. This is absolutely outrageous- this is not some small, independent enterprise, but an international hotel group which is seemingly operating a discrimanatory, racist policy. I will never, ever set foot in a Best Western again. Appartently, they are a company who are happy to turn away people in the middle of the night in -18 degree temperatures based on the colour of their skin.

The wifi is bad, only good at lobby area No inform when hot water break down & no replacement suggestion of one day & night, wheater is so cold , room tem. Is cold to ask for them supply one handy warmer heater, not accepted oversea credit card, no couriou mail express srrvice, that was my was the worse hotel had been stay

the hotel itself was okay, the walls were paper thin though so we were constantly woken by loud neighbours. It is really far from everything (20 minute taxi minimum) so if you have a lot planned in town i would look elsewhere. It can be a bit difficult to communicate with staff as well as none speak English though they did try their hardest

Close to Harbin West Train Station.

Close to the Harbin west Railway Station 10 minute taxi ride. Modern part of Harbin. Near the university. Subway station at the end of the street. Food is good but the Western Food was cold. I guess some people like it that way. Good variety with plenty to choose from.

Staff is helpful able to give direction if needed. Easy to find and transportation to places is convenient too. Overall is nice and clean is recommended to stay. In addition the surrounding is quiet, nice and clean too. Breakfast food has variety to serve different groups of tourist. You will not be disappointed staying with them. Taxi is easily reachable to travel as and where whenever is required. The staff are there to provide assistance if you need more beds or bigger room.

Good but out of the city center

Pros: Quiet at night. Non smoking.
Cons: No English speaking staff.
Location: 60RMB taxi ride to city center...
A very nice hotel. Staff spoke no English though, which was surprising for an international - USA chain. Breakfast was good and room was clean. A 60RMB taxi from the city center but lovely none the less. A good spot if travelling through Harbin and into the countryside.

Kort verblijf tijdens ijsfestijn.

Verblijf was netjes, maar we hebben wel een aantal kanttekeningen. De ontbijtzaal was veel te koud, je blijft niet lang zitten. De receptionisten spreken geen engels, het gesprek werd via de Translater op de telefoon vertaald, waardoor de communicatie zeer moeizaam verliep. In de beschrijving van het hotel stond, dat engels gesproken werd. Dit vonden wij een zeer grote minpunt. Je verwacht van een internationaal concern zeker engels sprekende receptionisten.
