Greetings..It is unfortunate that you experienced a less than quiet start or end to your day. However, given our proximity to the city center there will be traffic and hooting most mornings. I do hope you had a pleasant stay besides the noise from outisde.

Disappointing
Posted 12 May 2022 on HotelsWorst experience ever. Hotel is advertised wrongly. No fridge, no microwave, no kettle, blankets ripped, no hot water, breakfast provided not on the menu. Very noisy due to clubs around the area. Arrived at the property given to separate rooms away from my kids yet booked a 2 bed apartment. In those rooms there was nothing as advertised. No hot water, no fridge and no microwave. Made a complaint then was moved to the 2 bed apartment we initially booked the next day. However there was a fridge in that apartment but again no microwave, no kettle. Worst hotel we ever booked. For those reasons will never use horizon inn again as long as i live. Rather sleep on the street. The only positive side was the receptionist was very helpful.

Greetings valued guest
I apologize for the poor communication by the receptionist on your check-in, there was an electrical fault affecting the block with the apartment you were due to check in on arrival. The receptionist on duty was advised to inform you of this on arrival as the fault occurred on the morning of your arrival. The electrical fault affected the geyser and ultimately supply of water to that section.
Not all our rooms have a fridge, this is only for apartments or superior room and kettles are excluded in some budget rooms as well that are strictly for walk-in guests on a budget. It appears you were temporarily accommodated in a budget room on arrival unfortunately.
Ripped blankets - i will look into that as we recently replaced worn linen. Sadly there was miscommunication as i asked receptionist on duty twice whether there was any issue or complaints during your stay and twice i was told everything is ok.
There are no night clubs within proximity of Horizon Inn, it is quite possible that you were disturbed by loud music for a brief time from cars parked across the road from our premises on weekend. This is something we have tried to engage local authorities on and most days it is relatively quiet.
Once again I do apologize and assure you we will address the issues raised that are within our control.
regards

Nice clean hotel for what you pay for and polite and helpful staff.Floors could do with upgrading to something that doesn’t require the use of cobra for polishing, such as ceramic tiles, as the smell of cobra can affect those of us with hay fever. Otherwise a very good hotel for someone on a limited budget!

The room was reeking of chemicals, generally it wasn’t that clean and was too cold.

We apologise for the incovenience caused during your stay, unfortunately there was some painting going on and other upgrades during the last 2 months that may be cause of the smell of chemicals.
Thank you for the feed back. Look forward to seeing you again soon!

Decent place but not quite good enough

Pros: Friendly staff
Security
Location
Water pressure
Fantastic wifi
Cons: The rooms are quite dated in general
Beds not comfortable
Linen is terrible
Overall room pricing
The breakfast
Location: Just down the road you have the Five Ave Shopping Centre that has restaurants, 2 supermarkets, pharmacy, fast food places and more
Decided to give Horizon Inn a try for a 2 night visit to Harare. The check-in was smooth and everything was as it should be. The lady at the front desk was an absolute joy. The rooms are not much to write home about. The linen is probably a couple of decades old, the mattresses are very uncomfortable and the pillows were so thin it was beyond belief. No words could adequately describe that. You just need to forego comfort. At best what you want to do is sleep there but not much else. The rooms were very clean though which was a bonus. I have to say that for what it is Horizon Inn is very well kept from the grounds to the rooms. Great wifi.
The location itself is not too bad. It is relatively close to Harare CBD which is about 10 minutes walk. This is not an area to walk around at night or after the sun goes down. The closest intersection is very busy with both people (vendors) and vehicles so the mornings were very noisy. Not a chance for a sleep-in.
The amount you pay and what you get really leaves a lot to be desired. But that is how Zimbabwe is currently set up - the USD is not really given its due respect so the pricing of some things is unrealistic and Horizon Inn is a perfect example. I learnt my lesson and the pricepoint is not reflective of what you would expect in terms of standard. Absolutely cannot fault the staff, they are the best thing about Horizon Inn. Very friendly and dependable.
If you can spare a few extra $$$ I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Thank you Tafadzwa for your feed back.
It is rather unfortunate to hear that your stay with us was not as pleasant as you expected. Regarding the rooms, we are in the process of some upgrades of the rooms and more than likely when you visit us again you will certainly have a different view. Brand new linen was delivered earlier this year and I must say rather shocked that you were not satisfied. I will look this up with housekeeping.
On pricing, I would like to think we are fairly priced for budget travel given the high operational costs for business in Zimbabwe at the moment. Look forward to seeing you here again soon.
regards.

Will not visit again
Posted 29 Oct 2017Within walking distance to city. Room generally clean but Very old, stained bed linen, blanket with holes, hard bed. Inadequate tea facilities in room. My son and I Arrived at dining room well within breakfast time only to be told by staff that breakfast ingredients had run out - so didn’t get continental breakfast that I paid for. Soiled table cloths, not removed. Paid for 2 nights, checked out after 1 night. Won’t stay here again!

Valued guest,
Thank you for having chosen to stay at Horizon Inn. I have taken note of your concerns particularly regarding the condition of linen. That matter is being addressed with urgency.
As for the breakfast, we are looking into the matter as our records show all necessary ingredients for breakfast were available on the morning of your stay.
Sincere apologies. As we work to improve our offering, we do hope you keep us in mind in the near future.
