"One of the less expensive places to stay that I could find. Good value for the price. Helpful, friendly staff - they sorted my ticket for the gondola / lift pass at Tsugaike Kogen, and shuttle bus. Clean (even though a little older). 10 min. walk to Happo-one bus station and dining options. Great breakfast buffet."

"The owner came and picked us up from the bus terminal! He spoke very good English and was very warm and friendly! He then dropped us back at the bus terminal at the end of the trip. Our room had a shared bathroom, which I didn’t realise would be the shared showers in the onsen (no booths or privacy) so that might not be for everyone when booking a room with shared bathroom. "I really enjoyed my stay at the Phoenix. Not only was the staff was very friendly and accommodating, but they spoke English. It's not too far of a walk to good food and they offered shuttles to the ski park, even after i missed the pick up time. My room was very clean. The ski locker was very convenient and nothing got stolen. The onsen was great and the restaurant had the best steak I've ever had in my life. Thank you Phoenix staff for the great stay. I would definitely stay there again."
