The hotel is in a great location within the old quarter and in close proximity to the lake. The hotel itself is designed quite well although if you are disabled, you will have trouble from the get-go since there are many steps to enter. The front desk staff are great - friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was nice. It had a window that provided views out towards the street. The desk was a decent size for working and the bed comfortable. I generally have no complaints about the facilities themselves, but they do have issues. The bathroom was not very clean. There was hair on the floor when I walked in the first time. I used the hose next to the toilet bowl to hose the floor down myself. They need to replace their towels and do a better job about washing them. There are no excuses for hotels using towels until they are ratty and thin. Set a schedule to change them out with new ones before they look terrible. Build it into the cost. Also, wash the towels and bed linens with a drop of bleach to eliminate mildew. The towels frequently smelled like mildew at this hotel. The worst of all however was the noise. During my first two nights, I heard the trash trucks on the streets out front beeping and emptying dumpsters until about 3/4am. Also, the construction site adjacent to the hotel had people working in them also until around 3/4am. They were hammering metal against metal and at one point I heard what sounded like a stack of metal poles on their sides rolling away.
