An architectural gem surrounded by beauty!
Posted 12 Aug 2019 on HotelsThis property is surrounded on both sides by the Grampians, nestled near the town centre of Halls Gap. Plenty of wild animals to see, kangaroos, wallabies, deer and ducks are all plentiful.
Your nearest neighbour is the sister house to this one (The one we stayed at was called bushland, but ironstone is also available.) Bushland is actually in a better spot as it is situated by itself, whereas ironstone is located close to another house (within 10m) so if you are after seclusion I would pick bushland over ironstone.
An architectural beauty, with high lofted ceilings that afford you uninterrupted views of the Grampians, where ever in the house you may be, even from the bed when you wake up in the morning.
Overall the best self-serviced house I have stayed at for a long time. The fit and finish were superb, with granite countertops, hardwood floors and doors, dual showers and crystal wine glasses! The spa tub was amazing, as it also had great views.

The views are breathtaking, close to town but far away enough that you still feel secluded from anyone.

Stay @ Ironstone in Halls Gap
Posted 7 Oct 2018 on HotelsIn our booking it was stated that they would send us a 'check- in email' closer to our arrival time (1 Oct). The email didn't come and I had to call to ask on how to "check in" as there was no reception counter per se at the villa. Anyway that was a minor hiccup as the villa was a very nice,spacious and quiet place facing the mountains. Stunning view from the villa itself. The villa has a well equipped kitchenette and self service laundry. Kangaroos, emu, foxes and ducks were just outside the villa. A 10-minute walk outside were the restaurants. If you intend to do some light cooking, then it would be good buy your groceries and fresh produce before checking in because the prices in the general store were unfriendly!!

I am glad you enjoyed the villa and the views. It is a magical place. We did slip up on the check in email and apologies for that. We are new to Expedia and still getting our ducks in a row from a systems point of view. We have many guests each year and it has not happened before. We will certainly be making sure we don't repeat the mistake.

Posted 11 Mar 2018Our stay here was magical. The villla has 2 story high windows that frame the Grampians. It’s surrounded by wildlife, including kangaroos, emu, deer, parrots, and cockatoo. It has the feel of a wildlife sanctuary - but in a luxurious villa with every amenity imaginable. We plan to return with friends and rent both villas!
