The owners did a great job making this place indeed unique. The barrel-shaped houses are just marvelous and the view is breathtaking.

Shocking service
Posted 19 Sep 2019 on HotelsThis hotel gets 10 stars for location, scenery and cleanliness of the rooms. You enjoy a spectacular view of a canyon.
However, there is so much more they could do to make it more eco friendly and enjoyable. Starting from the blaring music on arrival to all of the plastic bags that are used to serve and store bread. The rooms are too spartan. Apart from soap in plastic packets, there are absolutely no amenities in the room (e.g. glasses, tables, etc.). The service was the worst aspect of our stay (and we had three locals in our group of four), including serving us pork after we specified that three of our guests were vegan (it was seriously like a scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding!). Finally, the hotel emailed me to cancel the reservation I had made the night before and we had to call and rebook a different room.
I will most likely not stay here again.

Simple and simply amazing
Posted 28 Jul 2019 on HotelsSleeping by an open window and having the light fresh air breeze waking you up in the morning is just priceless. As is getting up early and enjoying the silence, awesome views of the mountains and valleys. The hotel is located between Tatev Wings start and end points and from there it takes 10-20 minutes of driving to get either to Tatev monastery or Tatev Wings start point. The camping houses and the facilities aren't luxurious, but they're just what you need to get out of the city noise, asphalt, concrete and recharge your batteries. There's also breakfast included, which consists of some bread, butter, cheese, fried eggs - not bad as well. And all of that for a relatively very low price. Would totally recommend it - one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.

Great stay
Posted 20 Jul 2019 on HotelsThis is a great base to see the area, close to the Wings of Tatev. The staff are extremely helpful and the food excellent. It is an eco lodge and the showers and toilets are communal. They are kept clean but unfortunately some guests might not share the same level of cleanliness as you might but this is through no fault of the owners. On the whole, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. One thing i will note, is they do not take credit cards so make sure you have cash to cover your bill.

It is located on a cliff with breathtaking views. We loved the property and we will definitely go back again.
