Hakuba Snow Holiday
Posted 22 Mar 2015
Pros: It ticked all the boxes for our holiday. The separate lounge, dining and kitchen areas gave us the space to chill at the end of good days on the snow.
Cons: Cable TV maybe or Fox Sports?
Location: A lay day off the snow can be filled with one of the many day tours from Hakuba that are organised by the very accommodating staff at Gakuto.
This was a family snow holiday (all young adults) and our first overseas. Although the accommodation was not on the slopes it was in close proximity to the Hakuba fields with Happo One being the closest (About 5 minutes by Bus or a 10 minute walk). The Hakuba shuttle services picked up from basically the front door and the Gakuto guest bus filled in the blanks. Some restaurants, a pub plus Snow Gear Sales and Hire (Rythmn) shop accessed by a short (2 minute walk through the snow) just added to the ambience.

First time to Hakuba and definitely not the last!
Posted 20 Mar 2015 on HotelsWe had a lovely time. No complaints we can think of! The villa was perfect for a family of 4. The underfloor heating was a nice luxurious touch. The staff was amazing and super accommodating. Shout outs to Sae and Yuki especially. We would definitely book Gakuto Villas again.

Home away from home
Posted 2 Mar 2015We loved every minute! Great location close to fantastic restaurants and the ski shuttle buses stop right out front. Very modern villas and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Will be back next year!
Posted 23 Feb 2015We really enjoyed our stay here. The Villa is very spacious and clean. It's also centrally located.
The only thing I wish for is that they would give us more towels.
When I found a burnt pot, and told the receptionist, they replaced it right away with a new one. I would definitely recommend my friends to stay here.

Awesome!

Pros: Cleanliness, well equipped units. Surroundings!
Cons: More furniture in the living room.
Location: Hakuba is great! One of the most beautiful settings in Japan.
In beautiful Hakuba, Gakuto Villas is a gem! Spotless, modern two story villa. All the amenities of home in really cool facilities. Totally hi-tech: wifi included, floor ambient heaters (although we didn't need them in August), bathrooms were tricked out! Downstairs was like a Japanese bath with shower and soaking tube in a room separated by toilet with a sliding (Waterproof) door. Upstairs bath was equally cool. Modern toilets, of course.
Hakuba is so charming and the more we explored, the more we liked it. Though our host Kayo warned us that many restaurants were closed, we found some good eating. Wondering why it's not a more popular summer destination it's so beautiful.

Great stay
Posted 21 Apr 2014 on HotelsHad a very enjoyable stay at Gakuto Villas. Very comfortable villa for a family of four. Thanks to the team at Gakuto for helping us collect ski gear, take us to supermarket and drop off and collect from skiing every day due to buses no running at end of season.

All round great stay
Posted 10 Feb 2014 on HotelsExactly as per the photos. We had a great stay, just outside happo main centre with busses to all ski locations and a few really good restaurants nearby.
