Posted 15 Sep 2023 on HotelsMy dad and I had a lovely stay here and all the staff were very friendly. We ate in the restaurant a couple times and the food was delicious. Would recommend it to anyone.

Made us feel like we where family
Posted 31 Jan 2018 on HotelsThe will treat you like family. Arrived early due to a great tailwind on the flight to Germany. They went out of their way to get us in a room and make up extra rooms while they served us Coffee and water in the family-run restaurant. Probably the cleanest rooms I've ever stayed in.

Visiting Dusseldorf for son at Dortmond Uni
Posted 4 Nov 2013
Pros: Nice and clean, good space in the room, only ground, first and second floors so not too much stair climbing with a huge restaurant for meals.
Cons: It would be good if someone could speak English but that's really our fault for not speaking German.
Location: Hagen is a small town where we hired a car cheaply but we did not spend any time there as we wanted to visit Dortmund and Cologne.
Having been duped by Ryan Air that Dusseldorf Weeze was near Dusseldorf ( 1.5 hours travel by courtesy bus and train) and then by Expedia that the Hotel was in Dortmund (it was as far as the search was concerned) we ended up in the Restaurant and Hotel Haus Kehrenkamp at Hagen some 30 miles away from Dortmond our destination. However, we actually found a jewel in the crown as it was a great Hotel with a fantastic restaurant and although little English is spoken we were made to feel very welcome and had some superb meals there. The room was more than adequate, clean and quiet. If you are going to Holland then Weeze is a good destination but otherwise wait until Ryan Air go to Dortmund next month.

Great restaurant food
Posted 16 Oct 2012
Pros: The restaurant was busy every evening and the food was exceptional.
Cons: cleanliness
Location: In a lovely scenic valley, but unfortunately on a main road
The hotel was on a busy main road with a railway line directly behind. We were extremely dissapointed with the cleanliness of the room. We didn't realise that there was an additional cost for breakfast which had to be paid for even if you didn't want it. We left the hotel each morning at 8am and there were no staff around to make enquiries and the breakfast area was closed!

Haus Kehrenkamp
Posted 24 Nov 2011 on HotelsThe hotel is very comfortable. The only disadvantage for me was the distance to and from the city centre. I will definitely recommend it because of its homely atmosphere.

If you have a car, this is a very reasonable hotel, though the decor is somewhat outdated. We really enjoyed our stay here.
