The bathroom was exfremely small. It was difficult to get to the shower. This was located at the end of a very narrow bathroom. Just next to the shower, there a sink on the right side. I had 30/40cm to get into the shower, not nice. Also, the wc very close to the radiator/heating. My left knee was touching it. Considering it was hot, i could not sit comfortably at the wc.
Last, the receptionist did not let me pay the local tax by debit card/bancomat. I had to pay in cash and the chat with the receptionist was not pleasant.

We are sorry that your stay did not go as you hoped. Your room was a single room so suitable for one person. The bathroom is complete with all amenities and they are easy to use. If the room was too hot and not to your liking you could have communicated with the front desk and we would have had a way to find a better accommodation for you. But she probably cannot communicate verbally. We noticed this not only with this review but also at her check out in that she was asked and reiterated twice that we prefer a cash payment of only the tourist tax which in her case was 3 euros and 20 cents. Obviously it was not an obligation, but she also left without taking her tax receipt where the tax is regularly taxed. Leaving no room to have other solutions. Communication always gives us a chance to help you have a pleasant stay, maybe use this advice for other experiences.

Breakfast was awesome, perfectly positioned to view the old city. AC was great when needed it.

Posted 24 Oct 2015 on HotelsYes, it was fine. The hotel was in a good situation for arriving in town by bus and it was a good starting point for seeing wonderful Gubbio. We had a lovely view out of our window.

Cons: Better wifi in rooms
Location: Gubbio is fantastic.
An older style hotel which is reasonable value for money, clean and comfortable, no frills. Some rooms have big balconies. Nice breakfast but again nothing other than standard. Wifi none existant in rooms but fast in reception.

Wonderful stay !
Posted 12 Oct 2015 on HotelsAt first glance from the exterior the hotel doesn't inspire confidence but once we stepped inside we were very pleased as the hotel looks like it was recently remodeled and very nice.
Our room was also very new, the bathroom was clean and looked like it had been updated recently. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was excellent value proving a tasty, full course meal including wine for 20 euros per person.
Definitely would recommend this hotel!

Great location but there is no parking so you're on your own to figure that out. We found street parking that was not posted as a no parking area and got a parking ticket, so be careful where you park. The room was very nice and had a balcony. The floor was dirty, but everything else seemed clean. The bathroom was absolutely tiny but had everything you would need and was fine for one person.

Pros: all as I stated above . . . easy to reach by car, easy access to town; lovely hotel; friendly staff
San Marco is the perfection place to stay while visiting Gubbio. It is easy to get to by car and parking was right next door and easy to do. Walking to and from town was quite easy to do. The hotel is a lovely "old world" type of hotel and beautifully decorated . . . a "touch of class". Breakfast was lovely; we did not eat dinner there, though.
