A week in Guayaquil.
Posted 19 Feb 2018We spent a week. It was well located. Some street noise but we would stay there again.

Nice hotel for transit or business
Posted 30 Jan 2017Bathrooms are kind of small but the overall is good. Very clean and well located if you want to go to the airport or simply discover the city. I will suggest it for adults without kids mostly, and for business trips

I had to stay in Guayaquil for 7 extra days. The woman gave me a discounted upgrade after my 12 year old son had to stay with me as well, and even kept watch over his room to make sure he was okay during the day while I was out. She didn't charge the last night as I had to leave at 2:30 am to catch an early flight. It's Aparthotel with a great little kitchenette which I was able to use and save a lot of money instead of eating at restaurants every night. Room service was great and she discounted laundry charges as well.

Nice place, with some caveats
Posted 27 Oct 2016 This is more like a B&B than a hotel, in that it is basically a part of someone's residence. It is located in a residential neighborhood and is about a 10 minute walk from a major mall. In Guayaquil, location is not all-important because of the wide availability of taxis at a low cost. We recommend using the Easy Taxi app.
The service at El Patio is excellent! Delia Robinson, the owner, and her daughter picked us up from the airport at about 1 AM. Our room was basically a studio apartment with an efficiency kitchen and two twin beds. It had granite countertops, nice cabinetry, AC, and was clean and well decorated. The rain head shower provided nice warm water, but it really only came out at a trickle. That was a bit of a minus. The beds were fairly comfortable but not like at a high-end hotel.
The one big drawback, and it wasn't a huge problem for us because I'm a heavy sleeper and my wife wears ear plugs, is that the place is right in the flight path of the nearby military airbase. A few times each night and several times each day there are large aircraft taking off and, with some windows being permanently open to the outside, it is extremely loud when they fly over.
Considering all of these factors, plus the price, I would recommend El patio suites and would consider staying there again if in Guayaquil.
