Grimaldi Forum

Grimaldi Forum

The stylish multipurpose venue offers a varied program of theater, art and music and is one of Monte Carlo's most distinctive modern landmarks.

With its sloping glass roof, sleek interiors and oceanfront location, the eye-catching Grimaldi Forum isn’t easily overlooked. A diverse program cements its position as one of Monaco's prime venues for events and arts. Admire the cutting-edge 21st-century architecture or attend one of its many year-round events.

The Grimaldi Forum was built in 2000 on land reclaimed from the sea. The complex encompasses three auditoriums and many exhibition spaces, which host a range of ever-changing events, ranging from Broadway musicals and performances by world-famous dance troupes to pioneering medical conferences. It is probably best known for hosting the draw for the UEFA Champion's League each year, when major soccer competition line-ups are announced.

Check the venue listings to see what's scheduled during your stay in Monaco. Browse avant-garde artworks with panoramic views of the Mediterranean in the background. Previous exhibitions held here have included a show focusing on 20th-century Russian art and displays from the renowned Pinault Collection, some of which were made public for the first time at the Grimaldi Forum.

Attend a show from the performing arts program. Whether you prefer opera by Puccini or ballet by Tchaikovsky, the Grimaldi Forum will have an event to suit your tastes. The venue attracts world-class artists to its stage, as well as the biggest Broadway productions.

Even if you don't have tickets to an event, the building itself is worth exploring. The Grimaldi Forum is celebrated for its environmental credentials. It harnesses the strength of the sea to heat and power the building. Walk around the modern glass exterior and take photos of the views out to Monaco’s harbor. In warm weather, find a seat outdoors in the site’s summer café to sip coffee and watch boats move in and out of the bay.

All of the Grimaldi Forum's events are listed on the venue's website. Ride a bus from the train station to get here. Alternatively, arrive on foot. Walking from Casino Square will take about 10 minutes.
