Very convenient location on Chianti Road
Posted 15 Oct 2021 on HotelsThe place is very cute. There is a great wine tasting place down the gravel road. The mixology place in walking distance up on the main road. 3 min from Pazzano’s restaurants. Greve is bigger but in the valley. I would suggest Pazzano to stay. We had a room with 4 beds as it was 4 of us. It was tight up in a mezzanine. Family with two kids would enjoy it. Grown people not so much. Personnel was very helpful. Breakfast is very decent. Overall very good place

The owner was one of the most friendly kind person we ever met. The grounds and scenery was breathtaking. I highly recommend stay here.

Peaceful and pleasant place to stay
Posted 10 Sep 2021 on HotelsOur stay at the Casello was part of a road trip around Tuscany. Staff are very friendly, we were greeted at the door and assisted immediately whenever needed. The place is really beautiful and well kept, really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it

Just fine
Posted 22 Aug 2021 on HotelsBased on our experience here, Il Cassello would be a great place for an Italian family looking for a relaxing long weekend getaway. We don’t recommend it, though, to international families. Although the property is charming and the owners are gracious and kind, it lacks certain conveniences that make international travel more comfortable. For example, multilingual staff. A lot of the staff also weren’t wearing masks indoors. In general the room was clean, but dark and outdated. The air conditioning was weak and the blow dryer barely worked. One of our doors was broken. The pool is new and the view is nice. This is a fine budget option, but we weren’t particularly comfortable. We thought it was a bit overpriced relative to our experience.

Very nice, but…
Posted 15 Jul 2021 on HotelsVery nice place altogether.
Two problems, one with the lack of front desk service the day of our arrival for restaurant réservation advice.
The second being that the wifi network is anemic and underperforming at best.
Other than that, great getaway!

A perfect base for exploring Chianti
Posted 29 Aug 2020 on HotelsIl Casello country house is a charming base from which to explore Chianti. Our classic double room was comfortable and characterful. Staff were really friendly and helpful (even if they don't speak fluent English it wasn't a problem) - nothing was too much trouble. A good size swimming pool in the gardens which sees plenty of visiting birdlife. Gorgeous views. An enjoyable stay with lots to explore nearby.

We were given a room on the ground floor as we had 2 big luggage, it’s convenient to move them to and fro our car but as the AC was disabled, we had to open our windows to cool down the room at night. As a result we had mosquitoes flying in and got bitten.
Other than that gripe, everything else was more than sufficient.
Location was good, bfast spread was adequate (we only drank coffee on both mornings, just a personal choice).
Marina who checked us in was very friendly and accommodating.
