Not a good find
Posted 18 May 2019 on HotelsWhen we checked in the hostess did not expect us. Once we got that settled we had a barebones room. No water was ever offered and in fact we drove into town to buy some water. Showers were cold water only.

Good day, thank you for your response. I'm sorry that you did not have hot water. As this is uncommon we have had it checked and serviced. As discussed upon your arrival we are not listed on Hotels.com. I apologize that we were not expecting you.

This hotel has potential to be be a nice place! But as 7/21/18 there is little bugs crawling all over the place. However they aren’t bed bugs because we didn’t get bitten! Surfers beach is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. And surfers beach is so beautiful u will forget any troubles! There is cliffs on the Bahamian side of the island right where this hotel went is.

Home away from home
Posted 4 Apr 2018Surfer’s Manor is perfect - comfortable and clean with anything you might need. It felt fairly isolated too, in a good way - nice and quiet - certainly compared to nearby Harbour Island. The beautiful beach and surf break are just a short walk away. Floyd is a great guy and made us feel right at home. Highly recommended!

The Island of Eleuthera is Beautiful, The Surf was up most every Day with a walkable distance from the Manor.

Pros: Quiet, none
Cons: No free Internet, no breakfast coffee or any thing, no nothing except a roof.
The Island of Eleuthera is Beautiful and the People are more so, it is not for evey one although it is the R/X Our Family, the toughest part is the adjustment period back Home, it takes about 2 Weeks.

A friendly, family run motel, just be sure to ask for extra service if you need anything as it is not offered but is happily available.

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet, Poor breakfast
On our arrival, we were given a room key and not much else. The room was a cave, with one window opening on an minimal landscape. Have to hike a half mile downhill to surfer's beach...then back up, not too strenuous though. This was our morning wake up walk. Continental breakfast was the same every day;white or wheat bread, jelly or cream cheese, and coffee...no juice, ask for hot water for tea, and some sort of cheerios. We are not big breakfast eaters so this was fine. The queen size bed rolled us to the middle, it could use a new mattress. While we did have the amenities they list on their site, alot of the other rooms didn't(we asked to move to a room with a better view and were told we were in the best one. The internet access in the lobby will cost you $5,beer at the bar is $4/bottle...buy your beer at a package store and keep in the room fridge to save $2 ea. Be sure to rent a car as the island is long with many beautiful EMPTY BEACHES all spread out. Bonefishing in Hatchet Bay is close by and fish were plentiful. We suggested to the owners on the last day that they should offer local fare for dinner, also packed lunches and cold drinks and were told they do ! All we needed to do was ask,as they don't offer lunch or dinner to anyone not staying at their place . All in all, a friendly, good value place to base out of while exploring the rest of the island.
