It was a excellent stay for someone who likes quiet, which I don't.

Far from the crowds; beautiful views

Posted 15 Aug 2018 on Hotels
Located in a very remote part of southern Crete. Incredible scenery of mountains and the sea. You will need a car to travel out here and to get around. Be ready for some off road driving and narrow and steep winding mountain roads. About 2-2.5hr drive from Heraklion / Chania. The houses are beautiful, very clean and very comfortable.

Fabulous stay at Vrachos Villas

Posted 27 Oct 2016 on Ebookers
Location: In a lovely quiet, remote, peaceful part of Crete without any entertainment, nightlife - perfect.
We stayed for 5 nights at Vrachos Villas in October. We stayed in the 2-storey villa at the topmost point of the resort. This had a lovely upstairs balcony which gave fabulous sea and mountain views. It was lovely to watch the sunset while having an evening meal on the balcony. There is also a table/chairs outside the front door which we made use of. The bottom floor was a large open plan living room with kitchenette with everything you need - fridge/freezer, electric hob for cooking and toilet. Upstairs had a bathroom/toilet and large bedroom. There was plenty of space for a couple. It was the quietest location on the resort. When I say "resort" it's only about 7 quiet villas altogether with a little taverna for evening meals/breakfast, and very cosy. It's in a really lovely section of Southern Crete - very mountainous, quite a challenge to drive there. Very very quiet! If you enjoy peace and quiet, away from crowds, to enjoy nature without people, this is the perfect place to stay. If you want nightlife or entertainment, then this is definitely not for you - better to stay on the north of the island if you want all that. The only improvements to make this stay even more perfect is - perhaps a toaster, and a Wifi booster in these furthest villas. It was possible to get a Wifi signal outside on the balcony, but not inside.

Comfortable and clean

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Breakfast could be more substantial
Location: Fairly isolated and transport needed
Reasonably priced accommodation which was comfortable and clean. Swimming pool and restaurant provided excellent local amenities. You will need a car to get to beach and other restaurants
