You ll b amazed by the owners hospitality and the perfect location. There are two perfect restaurants at walking distance with very good Cretan food.

quiet relaxing getaway
Posted 3 Sep 2016 on Hotelsjust perfect for a quiet getaway, staff so friendly and helpful, lovely bar serving in my opinion the best food in the area including breakfast. Apartment was so clean and comfortable. This small complex of apartments was just what we wanted. No sunbed challenges and most days had pool to ourselves. Girani itself is a small resort with very little to offer

Lovely old tasteful small hotel that unfortunately has been surrounded by garish mega tourist industry monstrosities. If you want a busy beach town with bars clubs and mediocre restaurants platanias will be great. Nice sand beach. If you are looking for unspoiled crete this area has passed its prime but hotel is very nice despite this

thank you for your comment. You are right that there is a big five star hotel next to us: I always make the Bible joke to the guests that we are David and they are Goliath and you who wins at the end. However I disagree with your verdict. Platanias is a small village and we know each other. I know people are doing their best to offer good quality services in the restaurants and compete a lot with each other. Competition is something that is in favor of the guest finally. People who honestly try to give the best service they can are not spoiled but much to the contrary. In my view they also represent unspoiled Crete although I think I know what you mean: pristine beaches without any people and without infrastructure. These can still be found but require a good deal of walking. Kind regards,

Svært godt mottatt da vi kom sent på kvelden av personale som snakket godt engelsk. Fikk et flott rom nært bassenget. Da rommene er over to etasjer passer de ikke for noen som er dårlig til beins.
Lite familiedrevet hotell med kjempegod service.

Dear Hanne,
thank you for your comments. You arte right about the stairs and this is the reason why we have developed an alternative way of ramps going from one edge of the hotel to the other in order to serve people with difficulties with stairs. We also have two apartments in which living room and bedrooms are on the same levels. It is part of the hotel architecture to have many stairs alluding to the Cretan village constructions, something that today is no longer that widely appreciated. Kind regards,

Sjarmerende lite hotell med utmerket service
