These lovely cottages and peaceful garden provided an idyllic stay in Greece. We loved meeting the owner and the views were wonderful. Our cottage was very comfortable, we wish we had stayed longer.

Great budget option

Pros: The welcome and the setting
Cons: I did find the bed rather hard - but we only stayed 4 nights so didn't want to complain
Location: Two nearby beaches and Paleochora approx. 1- 1.4 km away
Lovely welcome - owner offered us lemons from her garden plus a litre of wine. It is in a beautiful setting - the owner takes great pride in her garden which is very colourful.
Fairly basic 2 floor accommodation with air con, it had a beautiful ground floor terrace plus large first floor terrace with views of the sea and two shower rooms - one on ground floor and the other just off the bedroom. You may struggle if you are planning on eating all meals here but there are two hotplates plus small oven so all the facilities are available.
The rating is mainly due to the cost which is extremely reasonable if you book early enough. The accommodation was slightly too far outside of Paleochora for us to feel comfortable to walk in in July heat but property is reasonably close to Camping site and we drove plenty of others walking in.
There are also two attractive beaches close by but they entail a fairly long walk or min of 10 min car ride along a dust track (takes so long as it is difficult to go fast) but Sandy Beach has a lot of trees for shade, umbrellas and sunbeds available for hire - plus decent cantina and WC and bizarrely a full on site Spa. There is a nude sunbathing area at the far end of the beach.

Great views and good location
Posted 29 Sep 2015judt come back from 10 days stay at Olive Tree Cottages. the upstairs south facing bedroom balcony gave us a gorgeous view over olive trees to the sea and sky a lovely place for breakfast or an evering drink. comfortable well equipped accommodation friendly and helpful hosts who welcomed us with some of their delicious home made rose wine and olive oil, lovely well tended gardens the tinkling of goat bells a cockerell and cicadas the only sounds. all in all a great place to be. Convenienly located 100m from nearest beach, half way between the town and the superb beach at gialiskari, around 2 km each way, so a manageable walk or an easy drive or bike ride. highly recommended.

Beautiful gardens and environs

The secluded private balcony overlooked a beatiful valley with olive trees and the sound of a river and was perfect for morning breakfasts. A nearby dirt road leads to a very nice wild beach and the lovely town is a short walk down the paved road. Inside the courtyard is a spacious lovely garden nicely cultivated by the owner.

My stay in Paleochora at the Olive Tree Cottages
Posted 4 Oct 2012Tucked away very close to Paleochora. A quiet location ideal for a relaxing stay. Nice garden and a confortable cottage with a balcony upstairs and down. The owners brought local olive oil, home and home made cakes, bread etc which was nice. Paleochora is a delightful. friendly small town which comes alive at night with the locals and tourists enjoying its bars and nice restaurants. You can also take a boat trip to Gavdos and other locations. If you fancy a drive through the mountains on a nice road make sure you visit Elafonissi for a truly beautiful beach (great for children).

Ambiente accogliente e tranquillo.
Gestione ultrafamiliare, cordiale e sollecita.
Comodo alle spiagge ed al paese.
Opportuna la disponibilità di un mezzo di trasporto.
Complessivamemte un'esperienza positiva.

Struttura situata a pochi passi da una delle spiagge più belle di e sicuramente anche di creta. Ambiente carino, buona pulizia, la proprietaria molto carina è disponibile.
