Ionnis was very kind and helpful. He was a big plus for this lodging. The hotel was good for the price, nothing fancy but it fit our needs

The owner of the property, Ioannis, was absolutely wonderful! Very friendly and eager to help us however he could. Our flight to Heraklion arrived first thing in the morning and he happily let us check in early and then let us check out late when our next flight was leaving in the evening. He was always available to help us with directions to tourist attractions and to explain the bus routes. There are bus stops right in front of the hotel which made travel very easy. There are also restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance as well as a beach close by. The hotel room itself was simple but clean and well air-conditioned. Would definitely recommend Lyktos Apartments to anyone traveling to Heraklion!

A good base near Heraklion

Posted 14 Oct 2018 on Hotels
Good sized room with twin beds and kitchen facilities including electric hob and fridge. Balcony and airer for drying clothes. Shower a little cramped but powerful. Nice pool with loungers - great for pre-breakfast swim. Nearby mini market and restaurants are handy and there is a sandy beach behind (5 minute walk). Not much of interest nearby but a good base to visit Heraklion and Knossos both served by bus (return using no. 6 bus from Heraklion). If you have a car Gortis and Phaistos are do-able in a day. There is free parking on the premises with gates locked overnight. The owner Iohannes (or John) is very enthusiastic about his olive grove and oil production and will give you a guided tour if you show interest. A good base to explore further afield or staying put. Thanks Iohannes.

We had a wonderful time there. Great location. You can go directly by bus from heraklion airport or port. Bus stations are just in front of the hotel and the beach is within walking distance. The room is clean and bright, with a balcony. The services are excellent. The people are very friendly and helpful. I learned how to greet people in Greek there. Now I want to learn more about Greek culture. :)

Wonderful apartments close to beach

Posted 18 May 2018 on Wotif
Pros: The property was beautifully appointed with lovely gardens surrounding the apartments. There is a great pool and cabana area with all amenities.
Had a fantastic stay at Lyktos apartments. My stay was made even better by the fantastic service by the owner Yanni. He could not have been more helpful or friendly. Great rooms, conveniently located near all amenities and the beach. Highly recommended. 5 stars!

Budget accommodation close to beach

Posted 6 Nov 2017
Pros: Roomy, nice balconies, nice pool area, great air con.
Cons: Poolside cafe would be really great!
Location: It's located away from the main tourist bay area but there are a few good eateries nearby.
We stayed here for two weeks. The apartment was clean and spacious with great air conditioning but limited facilities if one wanted to actually cook. No oven or microwave; just hotplates. Not even a kettle which seems an unnecessary omission. The owner was great though, very helpful and immediately attended to any problem or request. We were just off peak and had the pool to ourselves most days, but the lack of any poolside, or other catering meant we had to eat away from the hotel. Our main complaint is the traffic noise. It's on a busy road and the location of our room meant that we were exposed to it. Maybe if you normally live in a city you would not notice it.

Basic amenities, but value for money.

This hotel has very basic amenities. Hot water is supplied from solar panels so there imay be no hot water in the mornng. There are no queen or king size beds, only small double beds and they are very hard. On the bright side the pool is large and the owners, Janni and his father are very welcoming and helpful.

Great Hotel, great service

Our Lyktos Apartments suite was excellent. The management was extremely helpful. Need help finding good food? Need help on what to see on Crete, but isn't in the guide books? Go to reception and see Yannis for great advice. It is in a good location, a short walk to the supermarket, beach, bus, and the area's nightlife. The maids did an excellent job of cleaning, and the condition of the suite was very good. A 5/5 experience. Rob and Florita

A Very Welcoming Place to Stay

Posted 1 Aug 2017 on Hotels
I had an incredible stay at the Lyktos Apartment while visiting Crete. The units are in good condition and very clean and there is good wifi. The location only a short walk to the beach (not to mention the property has a swimming pool), a small market and a supermarket, taverinas, a great coffee shop & bakery and public transport was perfect. If you have a car there is plenty of onsite parking. Bus stops are located in front of the property if you are coming from the city of airport and a short walk on the other side of the street to go in those directions. The buses on the street will take you to and from the airport, port, Heraklion city center and during the summer a special bus service that will take you to The Palace of Knossos. Best of all is the host, Ionnis. This man loves his island and true to the legendary hospitality that the people of Crete are know for he is warm and makes you feel welcome. He is also funny guy and loves to share his love and knowledge of the island. If you have a questions or an issue with your apartment he drops everything he is doing to get you the information you need or resolve any problems. You cannot ask for better customer service.
