Fabulous overnight stay on our way to Ag Nik!
Posted 21 Oct 2023 on HotelsLoved our stay in our studio room, it was only an overnight stay but the apartments, the owner Manolis & his attentive staff made us feel very welcome.
Dinner at the Kastro Restaurant on the premises was superb and we really enjoyed the rustic but elevated local cuisine!
Sorry we left without seeing you Manolis, to say goodbye for now!
Five star stay in a cute village.

Nice, clean and comfortable
Posted 7 Aug 2018 on HomeAwayIt was a very nice experience with an attentive host, Manolis. The location is in a quaint village, walking distance to a café and few stores and about 1 hr from Heraklion. The room is big, clean and comfortable for 4 people, and having fresh fruit is a nice touch. All good basics covered. Thank you for such good attention.

Typifies Crete
Posted 4 Oct 2015
Pros: Most welcoming and friendly staff. Great food. Beautiful sea views from the balcony.
Cons: Very little.
Location: On the edge of the lovely village of Panormos. A few minutes walk from the harbour and beaches. Good public transport link to Heraklion and Rethymno.
Most welcoming , friendly staff. Delivered exactly what I wanted for a holiday in Crete. What you would imagine for a Cretan taverna.

nice location
Posted 11 Sep 2015Quiet, lovely view from balcony, 5 min walk to beach although it's a slight walk up hill going back to the apartment, not a problem if your reasonably fit. Nice very well equipped apartment, we had a nice balcony where we could sit in the shade. Reasturant serves great food should you decide to eat there, however there are plenty of other choices nearby in the Village. Panormo itself is a beautiful traditional small village, lovely people, a few shops and choice of three small beaches. Great choice for a real experience of Crete.

Wonderful apartments and taverna.
Posted 18 Aug 2015 on HotelsManolis and his family are incredibly welcoming and are typical of Cretan hospitality, nothing is too much trouble. Panormos is a beautiful town with loads of lovely bars and restaurants, Kastro is one of those that serves beautiful food and generous drink :) The nearest beach isa round 5 minutes walk away. I can't recommend this place highly enough and I wish Manolis and his family all the very best for the future.

The perfect place to stay and eat
Posted 22 Sep 2014
Pros: Clean, well equipped and quiet, close to sea and shops and a perfect host
Cons: A bigger shower would be nice
Location: Located in central north Crete it has plenty of fine beaches, and historical places of interest. Hire car would be advised
On arrival at our apartment the staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. Manolis the owner is exceptional, nothing seems to be a problem to him and if we needed anything he was on hand straight away. The apartments were very clean, large and fully equipped with everything you might need. The air-conditioning system worked a treat and you are only a few hundred metres from the shops and beautiful beaches. The town of Panormo is small but has supermarkets, various gift shops, bakery, car rentals, restaurants (but the kastro taverna is the best) and places to book excursions.
We will definitely return to stay at the Kastro and look forward to seeing Manolis and his wonderful family and staff again.

Great welcome
Posted 14 Oct 2013 on HotelsWe arrived at about 11.30pm after an evening flight from Luton. Manolis was on hand to give us a warm welcome even at that hour! We stayed in the studio apartment which was very comfortable and clean, and also had a great view from our balcony over the rooftops to the beautiful blue sea beyond. We ate in the restaurant 3 times during our week and had delicious food and great service. Our maid left breakfast in the fridge for the following morning each day which was brilliant, as we could get up and eat it whenever we liked! It is an easy walk down to the centre of the village and beach from Kastro Apartments which makes it the perfect location. I would certainly recommend the Taverna and Apartments, Manolis and his family couldn't have been more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
