Stunning views and friendly service
Posted 19 Aug 2024 on HotelsOne of the loveliest hotels we've stayed in on Crete, and excellent value. Our room had a breathtaking seaview and we'd return just for this alone. But the host, Harris, was also very friendly and attentive, telling us how to navigate down to the beach and town. Air conditioning worked like a dream and the bed was comfy. All in all a brilliant experience, and as we are frequent visitors to Crete we will be back.

Just misses the mark. The property has a great location, sea view, close to town and beach. Harris & Elena friendly. However, breakfast is poor (don’t bother). The room cleaning consisted of a sweep that just moved the dust to the corners - use a mop? A mop would also come in handy for the bathroom as it flooded every time we showered and the water didn’t run towards the drain hole, we had to use towels to mop the floor dry to use toilet and sink. I don’t think under the bed was ever cleaned. Window blind was damaged with the bottom cut off/ fraying and cupboard door needed wiggling to open. Generally the decor is tired and needs refreshing. There is a lot of potential at Galini Mare just a little more care and work needed?

Great Hotel
Posted 17 May 2022 on HotelsReally enjoyed our stay here. Had a great view of the coast and beaches. It is up the road from the tourist part of the city and beaches. Small hotel and the owner was very gracious.. Was there for 2 nights and have friends who also have spent time there and liked it.

Harris and his wife are wonderful hosts. We loved our room overlooking the ocean with a small balcony. Everything was clean, the bed comfy. The only negative for us was the shower, very small and impossible not to soak the floor. We would recommend this hotel.

Cozy and comfortable
