This is a very charming old hotel, but it has seen better days. Our room was spotlessly clean, but the shade over window on the door had been removed and the door knobs were loose and jiggly. The bathroom ceiling had a large, saggy patch which actively dripped water after the water ran in the room above us. The continental breakfast was limited to a few brown bananas, apples specifically labeled as “unwashed” (but with no sink to wash them?!?) stale bagels, and and handful of single serve cereals and yogurt cups. For $250/a night it seems like they could do better.
That said, the desk staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel grounds and architecture are beautiful, parking was capacious, and it is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Granville.

The staff were very helpful.
The main problem was, no restaurant or bar Sunday through Wednesday.
