The man who checked me in was very personable and friendly. He made me aware of nearby eating establishments, and even helped me up the stairs with my luggage when I tried to take too much at once. Great PR value there.
The room was clean and comfortable, so no complaints there.
The only issue I had - and it's really a minor one - is that the packets of shampoo provided need to be cut open. Once you're in the shower, though, that's hard to do unless you've taken a pair of scissors with you. I had to tear it open with my teeth, which was difficult. I would recommend to the hotel a bottled shampoo as an alternative.
But all and all, I would highly recommend the Imperial Motel in Grand Forks. This was my second stay in five years, and both experiences were excellent. If you're looking for a lower-priced accomodation, you could do a lot worse.
