Rooms are good - except the bathrooms haven't been refreshed to the same standard.
The hotel seems to be very geared towards tour groups, all the meals seem to be buffets and it's hard to get anything other than that even though there is a menu. Once all the tour groups have left for the day they start packing up the dining room - even though there was an hour left for breakfast.
The outdoor areas are just concrete with a few chairs, not very comfortable.

Posted 11 Jan 2020 on HotelsLovely views of the mountains!! Gondar is an awesome city, we loved being there. Restaurant food was ok, a good range and reasonable prices, room service available. Free WiFi but questionable speed. Shower was only hot on our last day, cold on the other days. Check in and check out was easy and they let us check in early. Our first room had a big bathtub but we wanted a room with a balcony, when we switched the second room did not have bath tub. Bed is comfy, room is clean, TV with lots of channels. reasonable price for the room and acceptable quality - would stay again.

Great views from most rooms sitting on a hill - about 20 minutes walking distance of town center. Easy to hail tuk tuk. Good dinner at on site restaurant. Best wifi of any hotel we stayed at in Ethiopia outside Addis. Very nice staff. Hotel amenities still under construction - like pool and terraces. Overall (Chinese) construction quality was poor - concerned about how this property will age. Bathroom fixtures were already literally coming apart. Curtains had no finials so kept falling down when they were closed or opened. Hallway carpets starting to fray and not affixed well. Appeared to target domestic business travelers with a few international tourists.

Die Zimmer waren modern eingerichtet und hatten alle eine schöne Aussicht.
Frühstück und Abendessen waren schön zubereitet, reichlich und schmeckten gut.
Ganz und gar nicht gefiel mir das Zahlungsverhalten des Zobel Hotels. Da das Kreditkarten -Buchungsgerät ab und zu ausfiel, versuchten die Angestellten immer wieder meine Kreditkarte einzulesen. Irgendwann druckte das Gerät einen Beleg in Höhe des Rechnungsbetrags aus, den ich unterschrieb.
Nachdem ich kurz darauf mein Kreditkartenkonto kontrollierte, stellte ich fest, dass nicht nur die eine von mir akzeptierte Transaktion verbucht war, sondern darüber hinaus zwei weitere Abbuchungen in der selben Höhe erfolgten.
Da ich vergeblich versucht habe, telefonisch über unseren guide und schriftlich per email das Zobel Hotel aufzufordern, die 2 Fehlbuchungen zu stornieren, habe ich jetzt meine Bank gebeten, diese Korrektur von ca. 450 Euro vorzunehmen.
Das Verhalten der Zobel -Mitarbeiter ist nicht akzeptabel.

No existía mi reserva de Hoteles.com
Posted 20 Jan 2020 on HotelsLlegué al hotel a hacer el check ib y me dijeron que mi reserva con hoteles.com no existía. La reserva estaba hecha con más de 4 meses de antelación. Casualmente era una fiesta religiosa muy importante en la ciudad y todo estaba completamente lleno.
