New, good value for money, location.

I was confused looking for this place, coz they changed their name to Budget Hotel(or Budget Inn?), but then my twin room was good, spacious - not like in HK - with a new strong shower and comfortable bed. The whole hostel seems to be newly renovated and has a great location right beside the night food market and walking distance to Pavilion and Petronas. People at reception were friendly too.

Overally it was terrible that the room was stinks as a toilet smell i couldn't stand. But we booked a room for resting as my flight long layover . Anyway they didn't change the name of the front hotel board (still got the old hitel name on) so it was difficult to find it. Quite hard time even if we got a taxi there. Staff wasn't good at English so hard to communicate. One good thing is they let us to early check in with a small charge. If i would stay overnight i definitely ask change a room but we used it for resting. It was really cheap so what we got that what we paid for...:) If the room wasn't stink, it was ok. Also very noisy. That price of hotel couldn't expect too much. 😂

Budget Inn is the real name, but a good hostel

Posted 3 Jun 2018 on Hotels
The hostel was remarkably nice actually, the main reason I chose them was because it was 4am and I needed a hotel and they were one of the few that still allowed bookings for that same night at that time. I had an sorts of trouble finding the place because it's not actually called "Dengba hostel" but "Budget Inn". I must've gone up and down the street five times looking for it without success, and then I noticed the alternative name in the fine print after which I was able to finally find the property. I've attached a picture of the hotel sign to aid future travelers. Check in was no problem, Laura from the front desk was a delightful host, and I've been staying here ever since. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is adequate, so I've got no complaints at this price really. The hotel also happens to be situated in the middle of Kuala Lumpurs busiest Street food market so i was able to try many different dishes workout having to go anywhere!

Sure this is right off Jalan Alor with all the street food, but there are plenty of other hostels on the street or in the nearby area so this is not a big deal. Several deal breakers for me: 1, super small windy staircase to get to the rooms with no elevators. If you have large luggage, it will be a logistical nightmare to reach your rooms. 2, I don't know where the smell came from since the rooms are actually quite far from the toilet, but it smelled like sewage during my entire stay, and that is with strong air conditioning on. 3, there were hangers and a large place for people to dry their laundry, but it is clear almost no one used laundry detergents / probably only hand-washed clothes because that entire area smelled terrible. Would definitely not stay here again, however, I can understand people choosing this place for the price. If you do, just set low expectations and it is tolerable.

I enjoyed the time in staying this hostel. It took me less than 15 minutes to check in, bed space and facilities are well maintained. Location is a good point to shop around bukit bintang area and of course the famous food street of jalan alor😄

Very good location for food

The facilities in this hostel were a little bit old, but the most important thing was that all function can be used. The staffs were very kind to told us useful information. I like food, and this hostel was located in a night food market, best for me, lol
