The property has a nice vibe to it. Glastonbury is a very spiritual place. And Camelot Retreat was a nice reflection of the community.

B&B is in a residential area outside the center but close to the Tor. Whilst bedding and towels were freshly laundered, the overall state of the property was outdated, dusty, with cobwebs in the rooms and dirt in corners plus the garden was in a right state. Nothing like the pictures and didn't feel peaceful or a place of rest. Breakfast options very limited, go to Heaphy's or Timos in town instead. Overall the owner seemed very disinterested and apathic. A lot of notes scattered around the property informed you of the strict rules (mainly around food and drink, how to behave and what is expected of you, for example being very, very, very quiet). Can only reiterate what somebody said before, didn't feel like a holiday, felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to leave the next day.

hi lysann this is valerye the owner of camelot. i find your review so hostile i am at quite a loss how to answer it. we are a spiritual retreat centre which you would have seen before you booked but obviously you were not in resonance with the healing vibes most people find here. i think you may be suffering from depression as you were very hostile on arrival, maybe because you were expecting a 5 star hotel for the minimum proce you paid. everyone has different ideas about decor and camelot has its own unique ambience which most people IF they are on a spiritual journey resonate with. you are obviously not one of those and i suggest you chose us as we were the cheapest for your one night stay. i dont understand your comment the garden was in a right state as i have receintly spent over 1000 to bring it up to scratch obviously in january it is not going to be the same as the pictures which were taken in the summer months. our breakfast is a FREE one and most guests are only too happy to have it thrown in with the price. notes are scattered around as you put it as some guests do self check in if they arrive either before or after normal check in time. you say there were cobwebs in the rooms and dirt in the corners!!! did you spend your entire brief stay checking out every room to find a cobweb? if so i really pity you and you should not have been checking out other guests rooms but it sounds like you did as you talk about rooms not your room. i am very sorry if we missed a cobweb there but surely if it was that upsetting you could have taken your concerns to jayashree who went out of her way to make you feel at home and comfortable despite your own pathos. our rules are sent to you before you arrive and we ask for quiet times between 10.00-8.00 which most people are very grateful for. if you felt unwelcome and uncomfortable that can only be your own perception. most of our guests come from booking.com and we rate 8.5 out of 350 reviews which is a very high score. people who score us low dont really understand what camelot is. a unique retreat centre where everybody is made to feel welcome and to feel at home in peaceful surroundings with unique views of the tor and access to the kitchen to use at any time and a wonderful meditation room full of crystals from around the world that you did not avail yourself of.. i really feel very sorry for you as you must be a very unhappy person to find so much perceived fault in an under 18 hour stay. i wish you love and light on your journey as i feel you must surely need it.

This was a lovely place to stay for the one night that I needed it. The room was nice and warm which I appreciated as the weather was wet, cool & windy while I was there. Bed was also very comfortable and I felt content to be in my room for the evening. It was a nice bonus to have access to the meditation room and a small library of wonderful books. Good selection of breakfast items too. Easily walkable to everything I wanted to see in Glastonbury.

This Buddist retreat was ok for a place to sleep. Evelen was there and greated upon arrival. House rules are stringent with no meat for cooking. Didn't see anyone but Evelen while there. No place out of the weather to store the bike, which was stored out in the back garden. Breakfast simple and serve yourself. I'm not a buddist but took note of Evelen saying I had to much baggage by leaving a large towel behind. Ha ha. I'd rate this place OK for a quite stay.

More a Monastery than a B&B
Posted 29 Nov 2022 on HotelsThere was no mention in the description that this was a vegetarian only establishment. NO meat, fish or alcohol was allowed (even in the room) and there were restrictive quiet hours. “Breakfast included” actually meant cold cereal, toast (one morning there wasn’t any bread provided) and eggs- all self service and self cleanup. Rooms were clean and comfortable but it certainly didn’t feel like a holiday.
