Lovely historical building with infinity pool
Posted 9 Aug 2018 on HotelsThis is a very charming place with an incredible infinity pool overlooking a beautiful vista. The property itself is from the 17th century (apparently, still in the same family!), and with that comes incredible history, as evident in the furnishings, books, and antiques. While the setting is glorious, staff friendly, and breakfast good, the beds themselves were not particularly comfortable, the air conditioning insufficient (it was very hot when we visited), and the old furnishings were not my taste (I prefer modern chic furnishings combined with funky old architecture-this is not that kind of place.) But I will definitely stay here again when visiting relatives nearby (the infinity pool alone makes it worth it!) Word of caution: there is plenty of free parking nearby; do not attempt to drive down the very steep driveway in front of the property. :-)

Peace, quiet and relaxation
Posted 2 Nov 2017 on HotelsBeautiful place to stay. We stayed at the end of October, but I would think visiting in summer would be even nicer. If you are after relaxation and peace & quiet this is a great place to come. The village itself is very very quiet - there’s really not much going on at all. The recommended local restaurant was good.

A privileged stay

Pros: Its generosity and beauty.
Cons: I can't think of anything important.
Location: Paestum, the stunningly beautiful Greco-Roman temple site, is about 8 kms from Guingano and has train and bus connections to Naples and to the south.
Domus Laeta is a 17C beautiful hill village palace, owned and superbly maintained by the same family who originally built it. It is a fascinating stone building where many old features (pretty internal courtyards, terraces with views down to the plain below and beyond to the Amalfi coast and its stunning sunsets etc.) have been preserved. While ancient ways of life have been respected, modern comforts and amenities have not been compromised and the small infinity pool in pleasant gardens is stunningly sited. Guingano, the village where it is situated, is a friendly place with a lovely little restaurant, La Torretta, which serves delicious suppers every day. Hillside walking is possible from the village.

Aesthetically amazing place. Interiors and setting
Posted 11 Jul 2017Yes the ceiling is low in this room and yes the bed is super firm. The bathroom is great and the veranda outside the door gorgeous. Proprietors show this space to all but we had it to ourselves. This place appeals to the artist, the romantic, the historian...,

Weekend getaway.
Posted 19 Jun 2017 on HotelsBeautiful location, and friendly staff. We had a bottom floor room, that seemed a bit dusty. But this is to be expected with an older hotel. We only stayed one night.

Exquisite Italian experience
Posted 10 Jul 2016This was one of my most wonderful traveling experiences; it is the dreamed italian vacation (up on the mountains in a tiny town, but close enough to the beach. Out in the country side (campaña) in a small XVII century palace with fine decoration taste.

A nice two nights stay but breakfast can be better
Posted 7 Jul 2015 on HotelsSpent two nights at this lovely 16th century house, ran by Camilia and her family. Very nice and polite lady who was helpful. House is beautiful and keeps original features including furniture. Pool is nice with not many people around.
Breakfast can be improved as choices are limited, with no hot choice like scrambled egg available, a disappointment although coffee was very tasty.
The town is very small, with only one restaurant available. We had dinner and lunch there and they were both satisfactory.

Frühstück könnte man verbessern (eher wenig Auwahl). Dieses Hotel weiss, wie man Gäste empfangt! Wir kommen wieder!
